Constantino's Italian Market — Restaurant in Union

I was reminded of this amazing little deli market this morning and I just HAD to write a review for it:

2 years ago my brand new husband and I were driving to our honeymoon and decided we ready for lunch as we were passing through NJ - I quickly googled Deli and we decided to give this place a try - oh my goodness we were both so glad that we did!!

From the outside, this little gem doesn't seem like a whole lot but the instant we walked in we were immediately affirmed we made the right decision. There was plenty of seating which was perfect because we didn't want to have to eat in the car, there were display cases that showed off the delicious looking made-from-scratch food that all looked mouth watering. The menu on the back wall was all handwritten on chalkboard and it was just a very welcoming environment. I believe they had a refrigerated/freezer selection as well so you could take some packaged food home with you - but since we weren't local and passing through, I didn't take much notice of that.

I decided to get the Romano Sandwich and my husband decided to get one as well- except I got mine without the vinaigrette because I'm not a huge fan of vinaigrettes on sandwiches. The sandwich is delicious. I mean it definitely hit the spot - the flavors, the proportions, the fresh mozz, it was perfect. I mean, it's been almost 2 years and I still randomly think about how good that sandwich was! I feel like that speaks for itself!!

I only wish that I was local so I could frequent this wonderful Italian market and sample some of their other tasty...

Bill is a master at his craft! Feeding people amazing homemade (from scratch, which a lot of people do not understand what that means)... Literally, everything starts from nothing. No jars, no short cuts. I can see, Bill takes great pride in what he produces. Im a foodie, and I can not say how impressed I was with the tray of Lasagna I ordered for catering last weekend. I make this dish often and my mother is a trained chef… I know how to cook! This was the BEST lasagna I have ever had with perfect ratios of cheese, to meet, to sauce (vodka in this case), to pasta. Perfection. My guests are still calling me saying where did you get that?? Ive also had his sandwiches and heros over the years. Every time the ratios are nailed! The bread… AMAZING bread!!! Who wants a hero or sandwich that has too much dressing or too many greens or even too much meat where you cant eat it? I like the right ratios personally. Anytime I need something catered, Bill is my go to. I trust him to give my party exactly what Ive asked for. Proven time and time again. Constantino’s Italian Market is the real deal. Bill and his team are AMAZING! My company has our lunch catered at least twice a month from Constantinos! Bill and his team are great chefs and very creative with their skill! They've created everything from burger bars to taco Tuesdays ..my team and me love it all! Sometimes I don't know what to order and can just call Bill and ask if he can prepare lunch for 40 ppl and we're always impressed with what we have and it's always delicious. Everything that has been catered for us has been exceptionally tasty! I can't pick a favorite because all the dishes are cooked to perfection! We've had such a variety.. steak with the mushroom gravy, garlic mashed, chicken marsala, chicken brushetta,you name it, we have not been disappointed! The salads are exceptionally good as well! My personal favorite is the Greek salad that they make there's a name for it, but I forget and the Santa fe salad. You will never be disappointed with Constantinos, they're A1 chefs, always aim to please and always go above and beyond! OH. I forgot to mention they have desserts too! Absolutely love...
