LONG STORY SHORT: Just order online. It's much more easier and less confusing that way.
First off, I like Best Buy's in general, so that contributes to my rating. This store experience was alright.
When I walked in, there was a group of three employees just standing in an aisle talking. I walked in and there were no other people around. No greeting or acknowledgement whatsoever. Not that I expect one from a major retail store, but there was an opportunity for a greeting that would've seriously made me feel better as a customer. It's nice that they have a mini Apple-store-esque section with its own representative/salesperson, who asked us if we needed any help. One thing I like about Best Buy is that they have at least a few headphones to try on and listen to, and you can even plug some of them into your own phone to listen to your own content. Competitors like Staples (honestly not much competition at all) have no headphones to try on and no Apple computers. However, the selection of headphones brands is not that great, as there were only JBL's, Sony's, Skullcandy's, Bose, and two or three smaller brands. Overall, nice place to look around and ask questions.
Buying a MacBook Pro here is a bit annoying. The Apple representative they usually have at the Apple mini-store was not there, so I had to track down a Best Buy employee helping out three families at the Dell/HP/other PC manufacturers section. The store representative was nice but Best Buy is very disorganized. A coupon that didn't work online worked in store, but there was some confusion between the employees about it working or not. They also didn't ask if I had a myBestBuy account and asked me to sign up so we had to go back. Even after we gave our email, the account couldn't be found. I just also checked myBestBuy account, and guess what, our credit for purchasing a $1200 item was not there (supposed to be $1 Best Buy credit for each $100 you spend at the store). Another thing I just found out was that the internet security software that is included with the MacBook Pro if you buy it online is not included with the store purchase. Ugh. Next, I wanted to apply for a Best Buy Visa, so we had to call someone on the phone and I had to stand there and talk to the other guy on the phone. Overall, it was an ok experience but it just seemed like Best Buy is a very disorganized major business -- I had problems with their online website and thought it would be easier and simpler to go in-store -- I wouldn't say that in-store was any...
Read moreI would NOT go back to this location, ever. My boyfriend and I preordered the Pokémon game that came out, and upon getting there the curbside option was not available for this order, although we had it set. Okay, no big deal. We will walk in and get it. We get to the counter and went to one of the pick up lines waiting to be helped. The store associates the next counter over clearly see we are there but didn’t even care to say anything, nor walked over to help us.We switch lines and tell the store associate we did a online order. He asks for a name, scans the barcode, looks at my boyfriends ID and walks away to get the item. He then comes back with a different persons order, to give to my boyfriend, asking if that was his name and order. He clearly just looked at my boyfriends ID seeing his name, and yet he was going to give away someone else’s order. He told us this is a curbside pick up. We know this, we explained this to him it said to come in and it was unavailable. He walks away and comes back asking to scan the bar code again. This happens multiple times where we repeat the process because apparently the fact it was under curbside was a problem. He then asks us for a 4 digit order number, which we didn’t have. We had the barcode. Someone else had to help him, and no one seemed apologetic that it became a hassle . I get he is probably new but this was a little ridiculous that the whole pick up became a problem, from the wrong order to scanning the barcode, to it being a problem it was a curbside rather then pick up. The staff were not friendly either, and no one really actually seemed willing to help. This should of been a easy process to pick up a order, but it became difficult and tedious. We will never go back to this Best Buy...
Read moreAvoid this store. I purchased a tv on 11/25 that was showing as $249 but not available in stores. In my strolling, I accidentally stumbled on one. However, two employees tried to ring it up for the price but couldn't because it wasn't suppose to be on sale at that price until 11/28. They mentioned I could purchase it at the $499 price and come back on the sale day for a price adjustment. I came back and the managers mentioned I couldn't do it because they don't do it for Black Friday. One mentioned I was given bad information. (Understandable because people make mistakes). I proposed returning it and re buying it for the current price, he mentioned it won't be possible because it would go through a quality test and there's no guarantee it would be available. I asked, why would it need a quality test if I'm just taking it right back. I went home, packet it and returned it (but to another store). As soon as I walked it, the gentleman told me I didn't have to do all of that (bring the tv back in order to get the price adjustment). I explained what happened and he apologized for the negligence of the other store. I spent less than 1 minute getting the price adjustment. Long story short, I will never go to this store again! The lack of customer service and empathy is why many people have decided to shop online vs going to brick and mortar stores.
On the Wednesday of purchase, it took almost 2 hours to check out (with only about 12 people in front of me) because there were only a couple of registers open. The customer service, check out and pick up registers were all merged into one line. It was a confusing mess. I should have learned my...
