Manny's Texas Wieners — Restaurant in Union

I’ve never been here before, so I wanted to try it out while I was leaving Home Depot’s across the street. There were two women walking in in front of me who immediately asked to speak with a manager. They spoke with an employee named Renee while I placed my order with another blonde woman working the register. While I was waiting for my food to go, I sat down at an empty table, and as I sat down one of the waitresses who was sitting down with a group of patrons turned and asked me “buddy! are you eating here or to go?” I looked and said you talking to me? She said yes I said to go she said you can’t sit there. There’s a table there’s a seat at the front. You can sit down and mind you if the restaurant is not busy there’s several open tables and then I said I can’t sit at this table and she said no you can’t you need to go sit at the seat in the front. I got up. Went to the register, waited for my food. When I received my food I asked the woman who told me I couldn’t sit at a table while a wait “ what’s your name, I’d like to leave a review?” She stared at me blankly for a moment and then continued to ignore me while speaking with someone else. I politely asked again to which she ignored once more. Then I went and asked her CoWorker, Renee. (Renee seemed very exasperated as Wednesday is not her shift and she doesn’t like the way things run on Wednesday. I know this because she yelled to Maria promptly after asking Maria not to speak to her with the tone she was inflecting in her voice.) as I approached Renee Maria rushed behind Renee and whispered loud enough for me to hear “don’t tell him my name. He’s trying to leave a review, tell him my name is - indiscernible whispers*. I said “ now she’s asking you to like to me?” Renee said she doesn’t want to get involved and I politely explained to Renee that this is the first time I’ve been to this restaurant and her waitress left an absolutely terrible fist impression. Renee exulted how delicious the food is. I said it may be but the waitress has left a horrible taste. There was no apology. No accountability. Nothing to try and salvage the experience. Located on a triangle where Springfield Avenue and Valley Street intersect in the Vauxhall neighborhood of Union Township (Union County), Manny's Texas Wieners is one superlative eatery. It's not just a hot dog joint, it's a three meal place to go, serving breakfast, lunch, and early dinner as well. The menu is quite extensive, and has many choices for your meal, regardless of what time it is. I came in for lunch just as the early lunch crowd was arriving, and they were at near capacity during my stay. This however in no way affected the speed of my service, as my order came rather quickly. I had the Texas Wiener Combo #1, which was quite good and very substantial. I even had to take some home. The hot dog had a nice snap to it, and the chili was not overpowering. Prices are quite comparable to others as well. The service was very good, as well as attentive to detail, which in the food service industry is paramount. I must give my highest compliments to the two servers, a blonde and a brunette, (I'm sorry, I did not get their names) who displayed the highest degree of teamwork, working not only for their individual sections, but also taking note of the other's section and helping out if the other got bogged down by the heavy volume of customers. I will never eat at this place again! Maria has the nastiest attitude and do not know how to speak to customers. I went for lunch with my family and my total was a little over 80 dollars and the tip was left in cash. Thr transaction posted, disappeared and reappeared with a total of over 100 dollars. I called 8am in the morning and Rene said she would call me back as she was in charge. I called back about 2pm to get an update and Maria felt the need to tell me they have a restaurant to run and that I have to wait like I was told. I said I so understand that but I am a customer and obviously someone did some funny business with my transactions may I speak to owner. She proceeded to tell me no and hang up on me. Rene calls me immediately starts talking and yelling saying they are busy and to come pick up the cash and she don't know how it happened. I called back a gentleman answered i asked was it Manny the owner he said yes so i proceeded to explain. I here Rene come take phone and say i just spoke to her we have customers. She came back and said listen just come get the cash Chris has customers. So he lied about who he was. Its disgraceful and as a first time customer I will never return.
