If I could give 0 stars I would. Be very careful if you decide to eat here. First of all, today was my birthday and I chose to spend it with my family at this restaurant. I had been here only one time (with a party of 20) and I really enjoyed the food that first trip. I was looking forward to going there today and the experience was the worst I've ever had. Our server's name was Jacki (per our receipt). She brought the food out and 3 from our group were missing the cheese sauce from their burritos. When they let her know, instead of just fixing the problem, she argued with them that they were wrong and that their burritos didn't come with cheese sauce. She then went and got the menu and realized it did. So reluctantly she brought out 2 little bowls of cheese for the 3 of them to share. My husband had ordered a burrito and asked to have shrimp instead of chicken in it. She brings him out a chicken burrito with a small little plate of 6 grilled shrimp on it and charged him $5.99 extra on top of the price of the original meal. She also charged my daughter's fiance for the regular price of a burrito when he ordered it from the lunch menu. He orders that same burrito every time he goes there at lunch time with his job and his burrito today was no bigger than it always is. I let her know about it and she just told me no he got regular "sorry". She also charged us $2.50 for "extra chips and salsa ". When asked about it she said you only get 1 serving. (So don't ask for any refills on your chips and salsa or Jacki will charge you extra BEWARE!) Then to add to the enjoyment, we noticed that the lovely waitress added gratuity of 20% to our bill automatically (without even telling us). Oh and as far as my birthday...she goes "happy birthday " in the most excited voice she could muster and that was the extent of that. How sweet. We asked her to get her manager and she walked away never to return. Then on our way out, Jacki was standing at the front with 2 other girls and they laughed as we left. We decided it wasn't worth any more talking with her as clearly they have no care for their customers and we would have been told "sorry" again.
For some context to all of this, when we had went on our first trip with the party of 20, we were NEVER charged for "extra chips and salsa" and we weren't even charged 20% gratuity or any gratuity for that matter. Today our party was 6 and a child. Absolutely the worst experience ever. Will NOT be back and sadly neither will my parents who went there...
Read moreFirst of all let me say my husband and I LOVE Mexican food. We drive to Cincinnati often to eat at our fav place since Abuelos closed in Crestview Hills. So we are always looking for a great Mexican place. Coincidentally we drove to Union one day and saw this place and said Oh man we are for sure gonna have to try that place. And… we did. Last night in fact. I have to say is I would give this review 5 stars if there were more seating for waiting and if the wait time had been more accurately been given to us. We were told the wait was 10-15 min and we ended up waiting 40 min. That’s a huge difference. We had to stand in a very crowded waiting area for a pretty long time because this place was packed to the gills. With all that being said, the overall experience was worth the wait. We had pretty good margaritas. Something I wish all Mexican restaurants did is use a better margarita mix sometimes the cheap mixes can taste like floor cleaner. Although our drinks were good, I could tell the marg. mix was cheap. (Note to the owner: Taste of Florida Margarita mix is by far the best pre-made mix I have ever had, your margs would be the best in the area if you upgraded) We had table side guacamole which was phenomenal. I have never experienced this and tbh I was so excited about all of the colorful fresh ingredients. I will always order this when I go to this place. The free chips and salsa were also very good. Especially the salsa. Wow! Not sure what the other dip was. I’m assuming some bean and cheese dip. It was super runny and a little weird. I skipped that dip after tasting it but I love a good bean dip. I have to agree with another review about the chips, I wish they were thin and crispy. These chips were on the heavy side and thick. But they were still good. Both of our entrees were just amazing. I had the shrimp chimichanga (loaded with super clean shrimp. LOVE THAT) and my hubby had fish tacos (Hubby wished all 3 tacos had a full piece of fish. He had 2.5 pieces.) Our service was pretty good, a little slow, but that’s to be expected for a place that is so jam packed. The waiter was very nice and knew what he was doing. My favorite desert is flan and the flan at this restaurant was the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I’m so glad we decided to wait for dinner. It was really delicious. If you are thinking about trying this place out, don’t hesitate, do it. But maybe go on a week night or maybe...
Read moreMy wife and I entered the restaurant, the hostess seated us at a booth right away; chips and salsa served immediately. A pleasant young lady took our order timely; when the food arrived I was served a ground beef burrito (I ordered chicken) the server double checked the order in her computer then brought me a chicken burrito. Food was good, we commented to the server how good the fried rice was this evening, when she brought our check, we tipped her at the table. We walked to the counter to pay for our food, which we did and got the receipt. Then a rude manager said wait a minute; you have another ticket open at your table, you had people with you and owe this ticket as well! We were shocked; both the host & server knew there was only two in our party (which the server verified) the manager put down a ticket for considerably more money (there was alcohol on the ticket; my wife and I do not drink) and insisted I pay it; then asked for our receipt back; I said no. I told him, I don't know what the mistake was; but you are not going to force me to pay again. The manager made some adjustments to his computer; then told me, you are free to go! Excuse me sir, you do not have the authority to detain anyone. I strongly suggest you have your facts together before...
