I want to try more of their flavors but the classics were not the best I've had, and just decent. I tried the potato pierogies. I found them at the Giant Eagle in Fox Chapel, and decided to try them out. It's possible that the food stand version in better.
But, these were just okay. The dough was adequately thick, bordering on a bit too much. The potato on the inside didn't have a very creamy texture or flavor like some other places offer. Instead, it was dry.
Flavor-wise, good. It did the trick and is certainly much better than frozen pierogies, but it doesn't compare to the many other pierogies I've had. There is an onion aftertaste when I eat these as well.
All in all, these could be good depending on your preference, and I'm sure the food stand is much better than the Giant Eagle frozen version. But, I just wasn't too wowed by these and I made them according to the instructions. Next time, I will try a flavor like cottage cheese since it's a bit...
