Last week, I took my nephew to get Happy Meals for the toys being offered. We each ordered a happy meal to eat in the restaurant, and when we finished, I made a second order of two happy meals and two pies to take home to my other niece and nephew. I asked if I could get specific toys and was told yes. For the second order, it took much longer than the first order, and one other family was eating in the restaurant (so other than the drive-thru, the lobby was quite slow). When they called my order, the toy wasn't what was asked for, so I asked if I could swap it. The original person helping me said yes, but then another person from the drive-through told her not to do it, so I said it was okay and went to leave. When I got to the car, I went to check the order and noticed I didn't have the two pies. I went back in to ask for the pies, and they said they didn't have any ready and asked if I still wanted them. I said yes since I paid for them, but that I didn't mind waiting, and the store manager told me it would be four minutes. After 20 minutes passed, I asked again, because it seemed like they had forgotten about me. The woman from the drive-thru handed me the order, and when my nephew and I said thank you, she just stared at us and didn't respond (as if we were inconveniencing her).
I drove home for 30 minutes and went to give the kids their Happy Meals, and realized that both Happy Meals were missing their hamburgers... When they handed me the two boxes, they were both closed, so it's not like I interrupted them. The whole time I was there, I was never rude and was patient (since I wasn't in any rush), but they missed both the hamburgers and the pies, which baffles me since that is most of the order incorrect or missing.
I called back to ask if they could just refund the cost of the hamburgers since I paid with a credit card at the register. The person who answered, Juan, said he was the manager but said there was nothing he could do and that they only give refunds in person. I didn't want to drive another hour round trip for a few dollars worth of food, so I asked if they could just mail me a gift card for the cost of the hamburgers (Starbucks does this, so I thought it was worth a shot to ask) and then Juan said I'd need to talk to "the manager" to see if they could do that, but that person wasn't there. I asked for the manager's name and when they would be there, and he said he wasn't allowed to give out employee's information, but he took my name and phone number and said the manager would call me the next day after 10 am.
The next day came, and I didn’t get a call. I waited to see if they would call later in the day and then tried to call back around 4 pm, but the number now only went to a fax machine. I tried to call the next day at two different times and from two different numbers (because I was curious if they were blocking my number), but the first time, I got a busy signal as if the number didn't work. And then later got the fax number again.
Yesterday, I drove back to the restaurant with the two receipts and decided to run errands in that area so I wouldn't completely waste a trip. I spoke to the manager whom I spoke to that day, and let her know that they forgot the two hamburgers from my order and that I called back to try to make arrangements (I was also going to ask a family member who works nearby to swing by if they couldn't mail the gift card) but that no one called me back. I brought the family member with me, and there was another customer who knew my family member, who can confirm that I was never rude or even upset and just wanted them to give the food I paid for.
The manager was quite rude and said she did not know what I was talking about and that no one told her. She did replace the food, but wouldn't let me keep my receipt (and proof of what I purchased). I let her know that the person I spoke to was Juan, but she didn't seem interested. He had said he would give me something for the inconvenience but that didn't happen. My phone call with him was recorded. Will...
Read moreSHAME on MCDONALD'S, Pat Booker Road, Universal City. DEFINITELY NOT MY KIND OF PLACE !! This evening, when I visited the McDonald's on Pat Booker Road, in Universal City, I requested the purchase of the 50 piece chicken nugget deal, and a #1 Big Mac meal deal. While I was sitting, waiting for the cashier to ring it up, I view it on the screen and noticed that the 50 piece chicken nugget deal was $13.46 and the Big Mac meal was $6.40. Being very surprised, I immediately went to the internet and looked up the McDonald's 50 piece nugget deal and saw that it was a 50-piece deal for $9.99 announced by McDonald's recently, in their battle against Burger King their 10-piece chicken nugget deal for $1.49. When I showed the article to the manager she automatically said that THIS franchise does not participate in that 50 piece chicken nugget $9.99 deal. She also stated that she had a 40-piece deal and it was $9.65. I then stated that if I purchased 4 ×10 piece chicken nuggets deals at Burger King it would only be $5.96. That is $4.00 less. I also stated that I may have been in the wrong and misunderstood, what I was reading on the internet, and asked what would she be willing to do for me, since I wanted a 50 piece box advertised at $9.99? She stated she wouldn't be able to give me anything else, that the 40 piece was $9.65. Being somewhat frustrated at this point, I told her I would take the 40 piece box, before I left, I also stated that I will not be coming to this McDonald's in the future. She acted like she could care less as she GRINNED at me! The manager, supervisor and the cashier ALL were LAUGHING at me, as I drove away. Total cost 40 piece chicken nuggets, not 50 as advertised and wanted + #1 Big Mac $17. 37. Burger King 40 piece chicken nuggets and TWO Whopper meal deal would have been $16.88. Bottom line, is McDonald's, on Pat Booker road Universal City, OVERCHARGES for their food and is NOT even willing to compete with Burger King. I WONDER WHY. Maybe, they are not doing very well in the competition for fast food buisness, so they are willing to pass this onto the CUSTOMERS, for their Poor Buisness Economics. Bad customers relations too! I would sure like to know if the franchise owner even knows how POORLY that manager and employees on duty treat people? And how SHE treated ME today. May seem petty, but $.50 is big when you do this to ALL of your customers, all the time. I could surely use that extra revenue! Maybe he/she needed my 50cents × Y = big money? It will probably be the last $1.00 he/she will get from me, and I hope OTHER CUSTOMERS feel the same as I do! This MCDONALD'S is NOT, MY...
Read moreThis place is a joke and very poorly managed. Twice in a row I have sat in line through multiple cars only when I get to the window they asked me to park around the side. The other day I did it I sat for 24 minutes then I went inside and they didn't know what happened to my order and I had to wait an additional 10 minutes inside. Then today there was four cars in front of me They all waited at the window, When I got to the window they asked me to pull to the front and I told them no. They quickly hand me my food repeated the order back to me then left half the order out of the bag. Mind you I only got a $5 McDouble bag. They put the burger in and the fries but not the nuggets or the sauce. Then nobody answers the phone so you can't call to let them know. This has been multiple times with this place leaving out part of the order and then not answering the phone. Even if there's only two cars in the drive-thru they still want to park people to make their numbers look good instead of just doing their job and getting the food out fast. I think they need some new management or maybe new employees. It shouldn't be a habit for them to just park people and then leave out half their order and not answer the phone. This is definitely a...
