We arrived at the restaurant and we were immediately judged for our dress (tee shirts and jeans) there were over 10 open tables on the ground floor. Yet after a quick huddle by the waitstaff, we were asked if we would like a table upstairs (away from the gaze of the public). We obliged. There was no one else seated on the upstairs area, it seems this place is reserved for those who don't appear to make six figures. Unfortunately they did not recognize me as a well known youtube food reviewer. We ordered the lump crab dip as an appetizer. And it was completely bland. It lacked any distinguishable flavour which was very disappointing considering it was $19.00. Next up for me was the burock pork chop and vegetables. Which was passable, but nothing special, especially for the hefty price I paid for it ($36.00). The wife got the grilled salmon, which she graded a 6/10. Towards the end of our meal, another party was seated in our upstairs location. They were also wearing jeans. Coincidence? I will let you be the judge. Overall a disappointing experience. We were treated like peasants based on our dress. One of the most insuting and humiliating experiences of my life. The food was VERY average and overpriced. The drinks overpriced. Do not waste your time here. Go to Applebee's and get the same quality food for 1/4 of the...
Read moreRamble Room is no place for a person of color, especially a black person. I made a reservation for 3 on Fatherâs Day, when we arrived the gentleman greeted us and instructed the host to seat us in the corner. His words âplace the high chair where it wonât be in the walk wayâ. There was nothing wrong with that, as a mom and a person who works in service industry I understood his point. But when the host brought us to our table which was 5-7 steps away from the front door tucked away in the corner I had a problem. Not only was it secluded and out of sight, there were two black ladies in the same corner.
Amongst the entire establishment indoor or outdoor there were 5-6 other two tops that we could have sat at. Yet they placed the only two black customers in a corner where we couldnât even enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant. Which quite frankly is why I personally picked it for Fathers Day.
I hesitated, spoke with the ladies next to us for about 20 minutes. As time went on I realized not only were we segregated from the other White and Asian customers but it took a whole 20 minutes to get water or better yet 20 minutes to get service. Therefore my family and I walked out. I refuse to give my money to an establishment that doesnât treat all individuals equally.
I will not be back and I do not recommend this place to anyone of color!...
Read moreThe restaurant looks very nice and has a great atmosphere. We waited approximately 15 minutes for a table, and our server promptly took our order. Our food was served within 10 minutes of ordering.
The food definitely can be improved. The fried calamari was overcooked and soggy. The potato chips and onion dip were tasty. The wedge salad was drenched in blue cheese dressing, with more dressing than salad. The chicken sandwich and fries were excellent and the fries had a flavorful smoky BBQ seasoning. The Italian sausage rigatoni was very good, but there was more sauce than pasta. I received the full portion, and I estimate that the half portion would have only about 5 pieces of pasta.
While the flavors of most of the dishes were good, everything, including the salad, was excessively salty, due to this we were unable to enjoy our meal. And no, we're not high blood pressure retirees (or retirees), everything was incredibly salty.
Our only other complaint was that the server asked us at least three times in a row if we wanted another cocktail. This was a bit pushy.
Overall, the restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and provides efficient service, but the food quality needs to be improved. The flavors are excellent, but the food is...
