I was part of a 4-top. We had a VERY long wait time for food (legitimately 2 hours) but got to catch up with friends and meet their toddler. However, we were all ready to eat our own arms by the time the food was delivered to the table.
The server was great (wasn’t their fault the food took forever), but pricy for what we ordered and somehow a salad with salmon took 45mins longer to arrive than the rest of the tables food.
Drinks were mediocre; only the person who didn’t get the old fashioned was pleased.
I selected the Streetlight Mussels for my dinner and when I asked for additional toast (since only three small circular slices came on the plate - I wish I took a photo!!!), I was informed that there would be an absurd additional cost for a side of toast - even the server commented it was a high price for a side of toast but that’s why they wanted to inform me vs just placing the order.
My partner & I left there saying we’d never go back again. There was no concessions or management offer to comp any part of our expenditure… only the apology of the server and them being mortified that they had to come apologize for the delay multiple times.
This comes down to poor management & scheduling from someone who’s worked in food service & management. I’m not one to write poor reviews but I’m STILL irritated months later and purposely didn’t write this review as soon as it happened as it wouldn’t have been kind. It was over $50/pp and I’d rather spend my $ elsewhere, as should you if you’re reading this. I’m glad I could treat my friends to a dinner at a place they suggested, but I’ll never return as wait time and more so the lack of care & awareness by management was appalling. I didn’t see a manager at any point in my visit making rounds or offering apology. Hopefully, that means they were in with the kitchen staff grinding away to churn plates out, but...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I tried Streetlight for the first time on Saturday night and it was a great experience. This place is a hidden gem and when I say hidden it is buried in a Drexel Hill neighborhood off of a hotel. We were greeted by the sweetest security guard that directed us where to park, then as you enter through the hotel, you can see the podium for the restaurant where the manager greeted us. We were early for our reservation, so we sat at the bar with Dani and had a drink. Dani was very friendly and the espresso martini and old fashioned from the tap, (yes the tap!) were delicious. The indoor restaurant and bar was so clean and set up so nicely. The lighting and place settings really had a nice dinner vibe. We then sat outside on their gorgeous deck/outdoor seating area for dinner. The deck has some nice flower beds on the wall, firepit/fireplace areas and an outdoor bar. The deck overlooks a nice woodsy, creek area. Cannot wait to come back for happy hour as the weather continues to get nicer. Branden was our server and he was so phenomenal. Very attentive, personable, friendly, and made sure we were always okay. We ordered the brussel sprouts appetizer which was good, served with bacon, parmesan cheese and a lot of syrup! We had the salmon (get it blackened!) and Steak for dinner and the only thing I would have changed was adding a little more salt/seasoning to the mashed potatoes and vegetables. The drinks were amazing as well. We had the Bom and the jalapeño pineapple tequila drink. Overall, great dining experience and thank you Branden for taking such great care of us. We’ll...
Read moreMy rating of 3 ⭐️ is motivated by the fact that various menu items we wanted the night we visited were unavailable. We literally drove and selected the restaurant based on the menu selection and was disappointed when they did not have much. Call beforehand and verify the items you wish to order are available. Also being short staffed the food took some time. However before we were seated, being short staffed was stated so it was a risk we chose to take. Being from out of town after a rough long day we decided to just wait. Unavailable menu items were not stated until we had waited and finally sat to order.
Fried calamari appetizer and Carmelo dessert was not available. The main 2 things I was craving. Settled for Pepperoni Pizza with light sauce. That made up for the lack of available menu items. It was brick oven delicious. I should have ordered extra pepperoni. The taste of pizza reminded me of Grimaldi’s. My companion however ordered a chicken Philly cheesesteak which I tasted as well. We both agreed it was average. Not bad, not good, just enough to satisfy intense hunger. Lacked flavor and maybe the bread could be less coarse and dry.
The staff was professional and nice. It wasn’t their fault they were short staffed and tried their best to keep up with customers and demand.
Note: It is located inside of Holiday Inn hotel. Google does not specify this so just know if you roll up to a hotel, you are in the...
