Toomi's Shawarma — Restaurant in Upper Darby

We recently ordered from Toomi’s Shawarma via Uber Eats for a family dinner — and as a Syrian household, we tend to hold our shawarma to a high standard. I’m happy to say Toomi’s meets the mark in many ways.

The classic chicken shawarma wraps were flavorful and well-assembled. The pita was panini-pressed to perfection, giving it beautiful grill marks and a satisfying crunch that elevated the experience. Freshly sliced tomatoes added brightness, and the house garlic sauce (toumieh) was the standout — tangy, creamy, and utterly addictive. The pickles had the right acidity and bite, though I personally would’ve loved to see the Levant-style long pickles instead of the more common circular dill ones.

One personal critique: the inclusion of fries inside the sandwich. While this is listed on the menu and likely a crowd-pleaser for many, I found it made the wrap feel heavier than necessary — a small point of preference more than a flaw in execution.

Ok I was soooo excited that a new place which should have a good shawarma is opening up near us. Went there on second day of their opening at 9:00 as google said they close at 11:00. But they already closed I was so disappointed but I was like u know they just opened it yesterday it’s ok. Ok after 3 days I went there again with my family, made sure by calling they r open. The guy there didn’t greet us, didn’t even said hi. We placed order and waited 35 mins for our order to get ready. Mind you they prefers online orders. They made shawarma n doner sandwich writhing 10 mins of ordering, while they were making the rest of the order they let those sandwiches just sat there n get cold. I was sooooo disappointed with the service, with the food. My sandwich was not only cold but the chicken was hard. If I go there again I would just get lamb burgers.
