I was a customer for 15+yrs of the original DiLisi’s owned by founder Sal DiLisi. Unfortunately the new “Leaser”either decided to call himself “Sal” or it’s a coincidence they possess the same name. It’s very sad that a little hometown monument has been ruiined to no end. The quality of the food has declined,no longer are products fresh nor are the freshest ingredients used as once was. The prices have rises & the products& customer service has completely failed. My last order I was delivered a an overcooked white broccoli pizza where the broccoli was almost brown! After calling the restaurant to inform them of such & that I had waited over an he for the delivery they offered to deliver another plzza. By this time is was already late & I just requested a refund but the manager in a rude way stated that the owner doesn’t offer refunds. I stated my case & he then informed me again in a rude manner that the owner would return my refund to my home personally as though I was supposed to be frightened! After 10mins I receive a phone call from the manager stating that I can keep the pizza & I will be refunded. It’s been approx. (2) weeks & no refund was issued. At this point they can keep the refund if they are in that dire of a need for money/business. No longer was the refund my issue as I chalked it up to a loss but the point in how this new renter is treating people. I called approx a week later just to hear that they refunded me. The manager than said he would make sure refund was rectified & he would call me when rectified. As expected I never received a refund nor a phone call. I am only writing this because I feel the people deserve to know that no longer is the respect of the customer like if the Sal DiLisi days but of a rude arrogant person who has zero respect for the people that pay his bills.I’m sure his story will be of a different tune but I have no other reason to post this other than to inform everyone not to support a business that is willing to lie & deceive the same people that keep their doors opened. I’m co dude trim not the only negative post that has been submitted & hopefully the people will not support this bully & support another local business who appreciate their customers. If the new management reads this post please do not attempt to now offer me the refund, you can keep it, appears you need...
Read moreI’d give no stars if that was possible because they don’t even deserve one. They’re over-priced on top of everything else but that wasn’t the biggest problem.
We ordered many times because the food was good-when they got the order right-and they delivered. Then the quality diminished and they started messing up the orders almost every time, sending an incorrect item or skipping an item altogether.
When we asked them to correct it, it was always “we’ll write it in the book” and give you X the next time you order. Then the next time we’d mention it and either they didn’t see it “in the book” and had to call the manager or they’d give it to us and we’d see on the bill that they charged us for what was supposed to be a replacement item. We’d have to call again to complain about that. We started picking up instead of having it delivered so we could check the order for accuracy and also because it always took 60-90 minutes and we live 5 minutes away.
There was never a manager actually there either, they always said they’d have to call the manager to ask what to do, and the last time we ordered from them, they had to call him because I specifically asked to speak to the manager and they said he’d call us back.
That was the very last time we ordered, because my daughter (adult) got food poisoning and we let them know so they could fix whatever the issue was so no one else would get sick. The manager called us this time and he said because that happened, whenever we wanted to order again, they’d give us the same meal for free.
If you’ve ever had food poisoning you’ll know the last thing you want to eat is the same meal that made you sick, at least for a long time afterward. No offer to refund, and he wasn’t even concerned enough to ask about how she was feeling.
We’ve never gone back. They’re awful. We noticed not long after that, they changed their name. From what we can tell it’s the same place, same people, but a different name. I wonder why? My family won’t be...
Read moreWhat a disappointment. DiLisi Restaurant use to be our favorite Italian restaurant in the Bridgeton area. We have been going there since 2012. However, my last few takeout experiences were not pleasant. Missing items, like the missing large order of marinara sauce from this order, is now becoming routine. I understand that prices have to go up because of today's inflation. However, shrinking the portions to sizes that will leave you hungry, while raising prices, is getting greedy. We have ordered the same combination several times in the past, which usually resulted in leftovers. However, after paying over $50 for two people and receiving substantially smaller portions, my wife had to make extra food to satisfy our appetite. The drastic change in service and food quality is starting to make us believe that this restaurant has a new owner and/or manager. It is time to start looking for a...
