I’ve eaten here and had take out many times over the years. My previous takeout experience had me waiting 10-15 minutes for my food despite ordering hours in advance with a set pick up time. My experience last night was even worse. I placed an order at 2:43 PM for 6:00 PM pickup. When I arrived there were four other people waiting for takeout in the lobby, some of whom had clearly been waiting for quite some time based on their complaints. My food was not brought out to me until 6:20. I wasn’t given any updates prior to that on why there was such a delay. There were only ten diners in the dining room (and it did not appear that there was much food on their tables either), so it’s not that they were being crushed with dine-in volume. The server didn’t apologize for the delay when he brought the food. I asked him why it was not ready on time when I had ordered well over three hours earlier. He said “we were keeping it hot.” My guess is that they had one person cooking in the kitchen and clearly couldn’t keep up with the volume. But they should not accept additional online or phone m orders that they can’t complete in a timely fashion, or give more accurate estimates for pickup times if that is the case. I had given a $20 tip online when I ordered and I wish I could have taken it back. Additionally, the hot entrees and appetizers were not packed separately from the sushi and salad in the two bags I was given. So I had to repackage them in my car to avoid cooking the sushi or cooking the entrees. All of this made me late in picking up my daughter at a dark train station when I had given myself a twenty minute cushion to get there that they erased with this excessive delay.
The food quality has declined as well. The calamari appetizer was over battered and overpriced. The edamame were unseasoned and the portion was tiny - I had a bag in the freezer and should have just heated them up myself for a fourth of the price. The steamed shrimp dumplings were good but cost more for a smaller portion than what Vic offers. The crispy duck curry was not crisp at all, very soggy.
With such disappointing service and the food quality and preparation declining, I don’t plan on returning. I know that with staffing there are challenges, but to be so unapologetic about it is not acceptable. I can find a similar offerings for a lower price and higher quality at Vic where my food is always ready at the selected...
Read moreFood overall was mediocre. Pad Thai is red, too sweet, and lacked much other flavor. Spring rolls are crispy, but $7 for 4 isn't worth it. Tom Yum soup is thin and weirdly sour - no spice. The papaya salad is drenched in the unappetizing red sweet sauce the Pad Thai was flavored with. Maybe it's Thai style, but I prefer a Viet papaya salad more. The chicken wraps aren't too bad, but there isn't enough filling. I question the lettuce wraps as a menu item, though...
This place has sushi, P.F. Chang's chicken wraps, Peking duck, and Thai food. We didn't try any of the sushi. The menu has an identity crisis.
The massaman curry was pretty good. Not enough rice, though. $1.25 for an additional bowl of rice is ridiculous. $17.50 for a curry is a little steep, but the beef was a sliced steak, so that's justifiable.
Portions are sizeable, but prices are too high. Food took a while to come out of the kitchen. Probably 25 minutes for the entrees to come out after we ate our appetizers. It was kind of a full room, but not that packed. The kitchen was so quiet. Maybe there is a need for more cooks?
We won't be going back. People around us seemed to be enjoying their food. BYOB is a plus, but the bill was just too high to justify Thai/American-Chinese food that...
Read moreWe went for a lunch and were the only people there. There were a couple of to-go orders waiting for pickup. I'd briefly checked the menu before coming and did notice that there were things that were marked vegan and as someone who is plant-based I appreciated it but when I got to the restaurant the only thing that they had clearly marked on the menus was gluten-free items. I asked about that and was told well you can ask about what you're interested in but anyone who's had to deal was having an intolerance or allergy and having to ask about every dish that you might be interested in, you know how annoying that that can be. I opted for the avocado salad, crispy tofu and vegetable spring rolls. The sale was nice with everything being fresh, there could have been a little more ginger dressing. The crispy tofu was perfect although the plum sauce they offered with it was difficult to get out of the serving section of the plate and also not enough. The spring rolls were just okay, I would go again but will pay more attention to the menu online and then be sure to ask in person if it is correct. I would definitely get the tofu again and the salad, I would skip the greasy spring rolls. My lunch guest had the Pad Thai, he said he would not...
