China Moon — Restaurant in Upper Macungie Township

Before sharing my experience I just want to say that I’m very disgusted with this place! I looked at the reviews and found a picture of a bug inside of their food!!!!!! And I’m glad in a way I had a bad experience because keep me from buying food here!! They are very rude, unfriendly, and unprofessional!!! I told the lady who took my order I have an allergy to carrots. I asked if one of the soups had any in it. She said no!! I asked if was in the broth or cooked in with the soup and again she said no. Once I started eating the soup a few bites in I found a carrot in it and it seemed that they picked them out and gave it to me. I started to have a allergic reaction. Thank god I had my allergy meds and epipen. When I went back at first she gave me a shrimp egg roll to fix everything. I told her I would need my money back because I had made them aware of my allergy multiple times and they did not take it seriously!! This is a tough review for me.

We love the food here. It is delicious and fresh. They have a lot of traditional Chinese dishes along with "American Chinese" food.

I recommend the moo shu pork and Mongolian beef. The soups are very standard, but the House Soup is outstanding and packed with meat and shrimp.

The kids love the fried shrimp and sesame chicken.

The portions are nice, except the combos. I will highly recommend against the combos because they are 80% rice (estimated).

Get the full portion of whatever you order with rice on the side.

Here is my issue with China Moon. The estimated time of the food being ready is never CLOSE to the actual time. I typically wait an extra 10-15 mins.

This wait is while people are sitting at tables eating. It is not comfortable for them or the people waiting for takeout.

My last visit it took an extra 45 minutes.

There needs to be some sort of system where they can contact you and tell you that it will be extra time for the food to be ready.

The whole idea of takeout is to NOT sit at a restaurant...

This place so unprofessional. I ordered food and they gave me the wrong order. I do not eat pork fried rice. I don't understand why they even offer that with a combination platter anyway. However, I called them and informed them they made the wrong rice for me. I dont eat pork. They put me on the phone with 3 different people before telling me as a one time courtesy they will give me white rice I explain I wanted plain fried rice. They said they already made the white rice. Of course the white rice is already made in a rice cooker so they didn't have to make it. Then she proceed to say she needs to transfer it back to her manager. Why? Why do I need to speak to a manager about what you messed up. I have the wrong ordered rice I'm bringing back. No one in my house eat pork. I told them they will never get my business again.
