Don Juan Mex Grill — Restaurant in Upper Macungie Township

Hello, just a recent employee at the Fogelsville location who was fired today and not even Juan being the one to do so. First I was told by my manager Andrew Friday I would be off the schedule but we would start fresh Monday after a disgreement yesterday during my shift, then saw the new schedule and was off for a solid two weeks knowing I have a child and family to support. I was informed by his assistant I would be getting a call from him today and then later on checked our 7shifts app and I was kicked out of it. No phone call or communication on his end. He had his wife call me last night to talk about an issue at work yesterday and she basically stuck up for her son, my manager Andrew, which was 100% biased. I worked for them since November in that short time I pulled in about eight reviews for them on good service and aside from my counter duties I helped out in the kitchen with prepping food and received no extra pay. If you came in for food this past week Andrew the manager had 103 fevers sick and refused for go to the doctor or able to miss work to not spread germs. Also with the rewards program they changed it so many times for customers and finally decided on having the customers reach 100 points to get money off their bill. When I asked my manager why the change he said they are giving customers too much free stuff and this way they won't get so many free things anymore. For how much money they have to upgrade computer systems and open a new cantina you would think they would be more giving to their customers since without you guys they would have nothing. First the customer service was excellent. Wonderfully clean establishment, and the young man cooking produced phenomenal food. The Italian lady who took my order was friendly and engaging. The food though, muy muy Bien. I grew up in Omaha Nebraska luckily with a small Mexican community not far from me. They always had tons of delicious food. After moving to PA it has been hard to find good Mexican food and I won't lie I stayed away from this place because I figured it was going to be more of the same. I was so very wrong. The portions are humongous and the slow roast pork is really some of the best I've ever had. It was really just a lucky happenstance that we tried them tonight and I'm glad we did. My only criticism is I couldn't call the restaurant, well you can but you get an automated thing and that was it. I could tell when the young man was making my food he really cared about what he was making and I wanted to thank him but I could not, it only means I will have to stop in again. If however he may see this or one of the other higher ups might see this it was the fogelsville building at around 6:30 pm on Jan. 3rd 2022. That young man took pride in his preparation and as a cook myself I just wanted to let him know it was noticed and he along with the young man doing dishes and the nice Italian lady who took my order, they all earned new business for Don Juan Mexican Grill.
