Caffé Bene — Restaurant in Urbana

I ordered a bingsu, cashier charge me the largest size which was $15, I was distracted and didn’t realize until I’d already sweat my card and the cashier mention the total. the bongs I itself had almost no fruit, I was expecting a mango sorbet with it. I instead got vanilla when I asked if it could be something ele like one of the surveys , I was told it was too late, I would’ve appreciated i’m asking what flavor of gelato I wanted since they didn’t have the mango, or at least putting it on the side since I mentioned I didn’t like vanilla. All I know I felt like I wasted $15. This is not something I would order or try to order from them again. Stopped by this cafe earlier this week, the cafe itself has a cozy atmosphere and the drinks are pretty good, but my previous experiences here were not as good. I’m not sure if it’s the same owner as last semester, but during the school year I would come here often. But while I was enjoying my coffee, I overheard (and clearly understood, since I’m Korean) the owner or manager scolding their staff in Korean. It wasn’t just a quick correction — it was pretty harsh, and clearly upsetting the workers. It made me incredibly uncomfortable as a customer and I felt bad for them. I can’t enjoy my coffee knowing the people making it are being treated like that. No matter how nice the cafe atmosphere is, respect for employees...

I honestly didn’t have a good experience here. The staff who took our order was super inpatient at explaining anything, like we owned him something. Also, their milk tea is made from milk tea powder instead of real tea and milk. This is ridiculous. Anyone knows about milk tea would know milk tea powder is VERY UNHEALTHY and tastes cheap. For the price we paid is for real milk and real tea. I would never come again for the milk tea and don’t recommend anyone have it either.
