They make the pizzas really really good here. Have never had any issue with any order for years like over 2 decades of em'. Whomever makes the pizzas here takes the extra initiative in the presentation.
Because... Well, let's be honest, when you order from Domino's you know what you're getting. However some locations other than this one, throw and slap all of the ingredients together in a haphazard rush. And all of a sudden, you're half pepperoni, and half anchovy pizza, is more like a 3/4 pepperoni and anchovy pizza. An the last 1/4 is a little Marina that's burnt brown or it's all bubbled up, with no toppings. Or somehow slices are all different sizes. Just all those things that people don't do when they are in a rush. You know... those little extra things? Such as taking the time to evenly spread the toppings. Making it so that every single bite seems to have whatever your favorite topping each time. And just making the product look good. This Domino's makes their product look good! And it's Domino's so of course it tastes good as well but just those little things, say a lot to me about the individual who is preparing my food. Obviously if I'm getting an accurate and neatly made and visually pleasing Pizza that is appetizing, that's how I am going to think the person is when it comes to food preparation and food safety. And this location on Douglas in Urbandale is always delightful. I've never had an issue that wasn't resolved pretty much without question and right away on a weekend even! I'm pretty sure it was my fault too because I think I might have forgot to say add bacon but I notified the store that I did want bacon on there they took the liberty of just making me a whole new pizza. I did not even have to ask. I simply told them what happened and they said that they would get a correct one to me ASAP and it was really fast to the thing was so hot when it came here and it was amazing.
And yes I do understand that I am basically writing a novel, for my review of this Domino's. But when somebody does something well, they ought to be recognized for doing well, eventually. A lot of reviews and stories in general about individual customer experiences tend to only highlight negative experiences. And that individuals are much more likely to share a negative experience than they are when they have a positive experience. Which seems really strange. And Google told me that apparently correlated with some type of instinctual survival technique. The way that bad experiences tend to stick out in one's mind more than a good experience. I'm going to butcher it but there was some analogy that went along the lines of, it's better to notice the hungry lion, whilst at the watering hole, over noticing a place to drink. Idk like I said I'm sure I said that wrong. But it goes along those lines. And I realize I am now talking about animals at a watering hole, when I am simply reviewing some good old tasty 🍕😋😋.
Simply put, if you're in DSM and you like dominoes, this is the one you'll want to order from. 🤣 I suppose I could have just started with that last sentence. It would of spared both of us, all of that nonsense, above this paragraph. 🤓😉😆 So I guess if whomever is still reading and have actually made it this far reading this... Read moreI work nearby and have ordered pizza from this location many times. It's always been fast and good quality up until the last 2 times.
The first time I placed an order online from the app and got a call about 10 minutes later. They said they were extremely busy and unable to do any deliveries, I would have to do a carryout if I wanted my pizza. I told them I couldn't since I was at work and they told me they'd give me a store credit to use. They told me to make sure I called the next time I ordered and they would give me the same amount I had spent off the next order. A few days later I went to do just that, but no one at the store had any idea what I was talking about. They told me I would be getting the money refunded to my card instead. This was over 3 months ago and I never got the refund. I decided not to order here after that.
However tonight I was at work again and hungry and decided to give them another chance. I placed the order through the app again as I had a free pizza available, I added some extras onto my order so it wasn't completely free, just discounted. About 30 minutes after I ordered I got a call again. They told me they were very busy and the wait time on deliveries was about 2 hours. I told them I was fine with waiting and they assured me I would get my pizza. 2 hours later the pizza is still not here so I call to make sure it's still coming. They told me it was and should be here soon. Another hour goes by and still no pizza so I call again, no one answers the phone and I don't have my pizza again. I'm going to call back tomorrow to ask for a refund, but I assume it will be the same situation as the first where they promise a refund and never deliver.
I used to reccomend this place, but not anymore. Don't order from here if you actually want your pizza to be delivered. I am tired of being cheated out of my money and food and will not be ordering from this store again. I suggest anyone planning on ordering from this location strongly reconsider. Read moreI strongly question most of the review above mine of 5 stars but no comments...looks like a manager trying to not lose his/her job. ha. Anyways, I'll echo what some have also said, Dominos has really righted their ship and they do have the best pizza for the money anywhere. No question. So when I get what I ordered when I order it I'm happy, unfortunately about 4 out of 10 times I've ordered from this location something is wrong. I've had purchased items NOT be included upon pick up. I've had their tracker (which I don't believe it actually tells you an approximate delivery time anymore) tell me upon online order my delivery time is 40 minutes when it was over 2 hours MORE THAN ONCE, I've had staff tell me they no longer have specials that I've discovered after the fact they actually DO..etc. When I make a complaint their corporate teams is very quick to get to the bottom of my complaint so I give them another chance and have been burnt on back to back orders. When they send me an email asking to rate their response to the original complaint and I tell them how they F@%^ed up again..silence. In short, don't request delivery, know what you are ordering and double check what you're taking home...
