We ordered 3 pizzas the afternoon of the Super Bowl. It was hours before the game so we could try to beat the busy time. We used DoorDash and have Dash Pass so don't have most of the fees. It was still $75 and no one got a large pizza. YIKES! That's a lot for pizza. We ordered a small Nacho Joe, a medium Nacho Joe, and a medium cheese. The ordering system makes you pay the extra to supreme your taco pizzas whether you like it or not however neither of our taco pizzas had the sour cream, onions, olives, etc that we paid for on them. Our pizzas did arrive in a timely manner so they weren't piping hot but were somewhat warm. It was really cold out so I didn't expect much in that department. The crusts on all three were really hard and crunchy nearly inedible. The cheese sauce was almost nonexistent on the Nacho Joe pizzas. They were very, very bad. I would have put Happy Joe's at one of the best places to eat taco pizza but not after our latest experience. No way will I spend that kind of money for worse than frozen pizza quality again. Casey's is so much better. And we can pick up Godfather's nearby which is also much better. If we had been eating inside, I would have demanded my money back. I think I should get my money back considering it was so bad. I don't think they should be allowed to serve that bad of food for that kind of money to people. It's wrong. They have shut down before and I think it's high time they shut down again. I don't know why they are putting out such bad pizza but we won't be back. I won't waste another penny there. I would recommend you...
Read morePlaced an order at 7pm waited two hours for delivery and was notified my order was cancelled because they were closed.
Edit: ended up trying again the next day, decided to order online again instead of calling in to not get preferential treatment to make up for the previous issue, so that I could make an accurate assessment. In the end, the pizza showed up in a reasonable amount of time. I was put off by the cost, but when it showed up it was a pretty darn hefty pizza, so the cost was justified by the amount of food. As for the taste, it was good. There was a few problems, the sauce wasn't evenly distributed, and there was too much of it. Near the crust was perfect, but as you got to the center there was way too much. Next time I would order with light sauce. The sausage was delicious, but the cheese seemed a little bland (however, this might have been because it was overpowered by the sauce). Also, for anyone looking for a deep dish pizza, this is more of a Detroit style pan pizza than a Chicago styled deep dish.
All in all, it was a good pizza, I'd rate the second experience a 4, but deducting 1 due to the previous order issue. Based on this experience, and without having tried the regular crust, I think I'll stick with my usual pizza spots, and save this deep dish for when I feel like mixing things up. I will get around to trying the regular crust at some point and will update this review with my...
Read moreI love their taco pizza! When I called and asked to make sure I have extra taco packets the lady on the phone said “sure no problem”. Or something like that, she said she would make sure. Well my son went in to pick it up and I told him to ask to make sure they put extra taco packets for the pizza . They told him yes. So I get home and there was 8 packets for a large. I called and the lady said I never mentioned extra packets and I refreshed her memory, she said if you don’t ask for extra we will give you 8. I said I did ask. Then she said oh I see there is a back with extra sauce on the counter. I said, who dropped the ball here? She told me I could drive back another 20 minutes and pick some up. Come on Happy Joe! You can do better than this. I don’t eat your great taco pizza without the taco sauce!!! I gave you a 3 because my husband said it taste great with the 2 packets of sauce for his slice of pizza. So disappointed, I work to hard for my money just to have this done. Her comment about me coming back to pick it up was a...
