If I could give zero stars I would. Long but worth the read, would hate for another family to have to go through the same thing. When we first arrived we were greeted and the manager (Manny), was already kind of rude. Said our waitress Lily would be right over to get our drinks. While waiting for Lily to greet us we tried to wave down Manny to ask about what kind of alcohol they sold, he didn’t approach us. Lily arrived shortly after as we stopped her to ask about the liquor, she then proceeded with how she would be our waitress. We then proceed to order our drinks. She didn’t seem interactive with us right off the bat, you could tell her mind wasn’t on our table as she was asking us about our drinks. We ordered the drinks, she brought those to us fairly quickly. We also ordered the $15 appetizer, she told us she would put that order in as soon as she went back to the computer. The appetizers came out fairly quickly. In between the times of us getting the appetizer and waiting for our food, mind you we had been there already about 20 minutes before ordering. She hardly came and checked on us, when she did it was because we had to flag her down, we placed our empty cups for refills along the edge of the table for her to see them. Still didn’t work. We waited a good half an hour before I finally asked what was going on with the food we had ordered, her response was let me go and check. We ordered pretty basic things, 3 cheeseburgers and the tacodillas. She ended up coming back and stating that there were other tables orders ahead of ours. I asked if she could just box our orders as we were ready to go. The general manager, Manny as mentioned before, came to our table and mentioned the food should be out shortly, I still mentioned I would like it all boxed as I figured it wouldn’t take this long and with the fact that we were not impressed with the restaurant and it was our first time coming here, his response was very sarcastic. He then went into a speech about Lily being busy etc. I mentioned the waitresses running into eachother and he said “I’m not sure what your talking about as our waitresses do have eachothers backs”. He walked away. Lily then brought us the check, it was $88, and some change. We paid, the receipt she brought back to us said $66 and some change, manny came back over as I asked for his name and corporates phone number because as mentioned their customer service skills need improvement. Manny was very rude at this point and said my name is M A N N Y, don’t know how to spell it it’s on the front door and you can find the corporate number on the website. Oh, after mentioning corporates phone number it was then brought up by manny that he gave us a discount. We thanked him and left. He brought us the food, we left. When getting into the car and leaving we opened the food to eat as we figured it would be fresh, hot and delicious, it was sure a surprise when it was nothing like that. The food had absolutely no sauce on the hamburgers, the cheese slices looked like they are living cheese slice to cheese slice. I was embarrassed for this company on how they did us bogus with our food. The hamburgers weren’t cooked fully. We threw majority of our food away. $66 and a $10 tip down the drain, right along with this restaurant. We will not...
Read moreFood Review: Ruby Tuesday - The Salad Experience on a Tuesday!
If there’s one thing that can make a Tuesday feel like a Friday, it’s a visit to Ruby Tuesday, especially when you’re in the mood for a salad bar extravaganza. As I strolled into Ruby Tuesday, I was ready to indulge in their renowned salad bar, only to discover that it had been relocated! After a brief moment of confusion, I made my way over to the new spot, channeling my inner salad enthusiast.
Upon entering, I was greeted by the bartender, who kindly offered me a seat at the bar. I politely declined, opting for a cozy spot near the entryway instead. It wasn’t long before the attentive manager noticed me and came over to take my drink order. Now, that’s what I call service!
Now, let’s dive into the salad bar itself. With a price tag of $2.99 (plus a little extra for drinks), it’s a steal! The salad bar boasted a variety of lettuces – from crisp iceberg to vibrant spinach and even a Caesar mix. The toppings were a colorful medley of healthy options: crunchy green, yellow, and red peppers, along with some basic but necessary additions. The dressings? Oh, they were delightful! A good mix of classic and unique options that brought the salads to life.
However, I must admit, the protein selection left me wanting more. While there was ham and bacon (because what’s a salad without some pork?), I was hoping for a few more protein options. The potato salad? A tad bland, but a sprinkle of salt and pepper worked wonders. Just a heads up: the pasta salad came with its fair share of ham and bacon, so if you’re not a fan of pork, you might feel a bit left out.
Overall, my salad experience was decent, especially considering the unlimited visits to the salad bar. The manager’s attention to detail and care for his regulars made the atmosphere feel welcoming and friendly, which is a huge plus in my book.
In conclusion, Ruby Tuesday offers a solid dining experience with a great variety of American options, from barbecue to burgers and wings. While the salad bar could use a few more protein choices, the overall vibe and service were top-notch. I’d rate Ruby Tuesday four stars for its ambiance, attentive management, and, of course, the salad bar that keeps you coming back for more. Here’s to making Tuesdays a little brighter, one...
Read moreI took my boyfriend to the Urbandale, IA location for his birthday along with my mother last night. I have to say it was absolutely terrible. First off we didn't get silverware until after we had went to the salad bar and waited another several minutes after that at which time I had to flag our server down and ask. When our food arrived, my $20 steak was overcooked. I ordered another only to receive another steak the same way. By that time they were both done eating and I didn't want them to wait for another steak. Our biscuits were also overdone. My boyfriend's mashed potatoes looked like they had sat for days and he took one bite, didn't eat anymore. His shrimp that came with his steak also looked like they were fried in old grease and sat around. We had to wait forever for refills on our drinks and the place was far from busy. I honestly would expect far better food and service for the money that I spent on 3 people. My boyfriend is very easily embarrassed so I didn't want to "make a scene" on his birthday so I paid the bill and bit my tongue. Today I called to make the manager aware of our experience and I feel like he basically blew me off. He said that he would talk to the employees and the server. However, he didn't bother to ask the servers name so how is that going to happen? I used to love Ruby Tuesdays but the trip before this one wasn't great and this trip was obviously unacceptable. I can honestly say that I will never be back and I'll take my hard earned money elsewhere. I have never before went through the trouble of leaving a review but this was rediculious. People work hard for their money and should receive better...
