Locker Room Saloon — Restaurant in Utica

I was introduced to the Locker Room Saloon in my twenties and always had an enjoyable time at the bar.

My work friends and I went to the Locker Room this evening after my recommendations, after several years of telling them how amazing it would be and it was fine until one of the patrons started putting stickers on my friend's back with derogatory comments. When I asked her to stop, she said you don't know who we know and stated I should back off. Shortly thereafter the "bouncers" came over and asked that I go outside. After following them outside, I explained our perspective on what happened and they said it was okay to go back in and if the other party started up again to ignore them.

We returned to the bar to finish our drinks , but we left shortly after this interaction due to the bouncers stating they viewed footage showing I instigated conversation with the other parties.

It completely ruined the vibe for the evening. It's still not clear why this behavior was allowed and why the team at the Locker Room would support derogatory language and a negative culture. My interaction with the other patrons was a direct result of their behavior towards my friend.

As it was my recommendation to my friends and coworkers to come to the bar, it was a major disappointment.

I am extremely disappointed on how the team at the Locker Room addressed the situation this evening and the explanation they shared behind their decision to uninvite my friends and I from the bar because we challenged the derogatory comments regulars were making about patrons of the bar.

I am writing this review to prevent others from having the same negative results to an evening they worked hard to arrange between their friends.I am extremely saddened to share...

Coming here with my friends it's always a fun experience, but last night a group of friends and I came in and we had such a horrible experience I felt like it was the 1850s. I never had such a racist experience like I did the other night. The music was great like always but on the other hand a bartender named "kelsie" never really came over to the side of the bar where we were and it was clearly her side. I watched her cover the bar with mostly white people and rarely come on our side ( where there were a few black girls ). When she did come it's like she didn't even wanna converse with us. We got the worst attitude from her. Watched her talk nasty to another bartender because of a question about the prices for shots. We ordered shots before last call and never got them. WE WERE IGNORED! When we told her she said "well i don't know what you want me to do about it, get out bye" very enraging knowing that when we go out to drink we tip very well, we are always sweet, we ask about specials and we interact with our bartenders. We are bartenders ourself so we know what good service looks like (even in a busy rush). Lucky the bar back with the fish nets on was so sweet and she told us about the specials and everything and how much the shots would be, she just couldn't make them so she referred us to kelsie unfortunately we didn't want her anymore she was extremely rude! she was such a vibe killer! we couldn't even order water from her...... like seriously water bro. We def will be back for Donna and our other favorite bartenders but kelsie is a problem and she definitely doesn't need to work...

Came in on a Friday night with a group of friends and ordered 2 drinks. When the waitress came to cash out our tab she handed me my card back with no chance to type anything on her card reader and handed me no receipt. I asked her “what about a tip?” And she said “don’t worry you don’t have to tip” after being rude all night which I thought was suspicious. I asked for a receipt and she ignored me and turned around and walked to the bar. I followed her to the bar and asked for a receipt again and she replied “I can’t do that the system won’t let me now but don’t worry I didn’t get a tip”. I was not surprised to see that when my bank statements came through for the night I saw that she HAD charged a large tip to my card, probably why she refused to give me a receipt. I called up to complain and was told by “hot stuff” on the phone that it probably wasn’t the waitresses fault because she’s new and she kept repeating her policy about “walking out on a tab” which I told her over and over did not happen. I asked to speak to a manager and she said one might be in next week but she wasn’t sure what day. Only come to this bar if you’re okay with your money being stolen by a rude waitress and your complaints being brushed off by other rude employees.
