Pioneer Dog Park — Attraction in Utica

I appreciate we have access to the park. Most dogs are pretty well behaved and the ones that aren't do get some community correction.... the problem is: absolutely zero shaded area making it almost unusable from 9AM to 7PM all summer. The mosquitos are also overwhelming. The parents from a football team take up all the parking as well. Sure, it's only 30 dollars a year but it's severely lacking in offerings. It's basically a fenced field of super hard clay/rock with clumps of weeds and grass. Needs to be kept up better.

Plant some grass seed, get some shelter, rotate big and small park usage to keep dogs on grass instead of concrete...

[important] There’s no shaded area so the sun is just burning you and your dog the land isn’t level and in the winter/spring there’s mud piles your dog will get all muddy and people will put their big dogs in the small dog area to avoid mud or if they just feel like it seemingly also there’s zero workers so if someone brings an aggressive dog (happens often) 9 times out of 10 you have to leave because the owner won’t do anything this place is horrible and needs...

This dog park is okay, pretty basic. It is not open to the public, but sometimes you can get in if the gate is left open. Not much but fenced-in open space for the dogs to run in.
