I have been to this location a few times since it opened. The service has always been good along with the food. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was not so great. We came here on Sunday to watch the Eagles game. We were seated right away on the outside patio which was awesome. After about 15-20 min we were still waiting on a server to come take our drink order. The restaurant was fairly busy so I got up to alert the hostess stand that no one had come by. No big deal as we weren't in a rush. About 5 or so minutes later our waitress came over to take our drink order. She DID apologize for the wait but seemed less than thrilled to be waiting on us. When we received our drinks I went to pick mine up and there was a hole in the glass. The liquid was spilling out everywhere all over my phone and the table. Our waitress had disappeared so my husband grabbed the drink and ran to the bar to try and get me a new one. When our waitress reappeared we told her what happened and she didn't seem to care. She did not offer to clean up the spill and instead handed me 1 paper towel so that I could wipe up the mess myself. This was a little frustrating as the table was incredibly sticky and so were my hands and phone. We ordered food which was really good and some more drinks. For my second drink, I asked if I could switch out the vodka for tequila. She wasn't sure so she went to the bar to check and came back and confirmed that they could do that. Which I was very appreciative of. Unfortunately, when I received my drink it had vodka in it :( I didn't bother to say anything because each time we had an interaction with her she was completely unpleasant and very bothered. After finishing our entrees my husband decided that he wanted dessert and ended up mistakenly ordering from a waitress who wasn't ours. He didn't realize it at the time because she looked similar to our waitress. When the dessert came out our waitress brought it over to my husband said absolutely nothing threw it on the table (no exaggeration) and walked away which was very awkward. We wanted to share so rather than wait for her to reappear he got up and went to find some more silverware. As someone who has worked in the service industry, I completely sympathize with how difficult it can be working with the public especially when it is a busy establishment. However, because of this I always make sure to treat the waitstaff with nothing but respect and patience but considering that we did absolutely nothing wrong and were treated this way is completely uncalled for. Next time we visit I think we'll stick to the bar so as to hopefully not be served by this person again and...
Read moreStopped in on our drive from OH to NJ. We started to regret choosing Magerks within the first 20 minutes. We were sat on the outdoor patio directly under the massive heat lamps. The table was so hot we couldn't rest our hands or arms even for a second without burning. Spent the last 30 minutes of our meal fanning myself with the happy hour menu to stop from overheating. If it's negative temps outside and you're blasting those, please don't seat people directly under heat lamps! Since we're driving to NJ and still have 2 hours, we aren't drinking. Waitress decided since we didn't order alcohol, we weren't really worth her service. Only came over to hand us food and the checks. Always walked right next to our table to get to her "favorite table" who happened to be ordering at least 9 drinks (I counted the glassware she left on their table) and then walk back to avoid us. When she finally asked us if we were okay (only after the app), she couldn't even be bothered to make eye contact. Just the customer service voice and smile. But she was great with the other table because they ordered alcohol! Got the fried pickle app - husband found 2 hairs fried into the pickles. I stopped eating them after that. Waitress was so off putting I didn't dare complain - he just got rid of them and worked around them. Steak dinner was pretty good. Husband had the burger and said it was okay. Annoying they don't do substitutions for an upcharge. You have to order a whole side and they still give you the side you don't really want. He ordered the side of sweet potato fries because he didn't want the chips. They're just cheap frozen sweet potato fries with no flavor, no nothing. Not worth an extra $7.
The place itself is very nice minus the heat lamps burning us up. If you're watching a game, ordering beer, and ordering bar food it's probably a much better place. But if you just want dinner and an app, go...
Read moreOur server was very efficient time wise, came and checked on us a few times, and always mentioned if she had to go another direction to grab something else. I asked her for a few things that she was unsure of, and she went and checked for me. I ordered the hot roast sandwich. It was pretty good. I definitely wish I got more sauce for it, but the taste was there. I'm sure I could have asked for more dip.
My issues come from the rest of my order. My daughter wanted chicken fingers and mac n cheese, which isn't on the menu and isn't able to be subbed. So I ordered her a side of mac n cheese. It came out on a burning hot plate in a crock that looks to have been in the broiler. Fine, that's how it's made, but had it not been handed to me directly, my cold would've burned her hand. The kid's meals come with ice cream, and my waitress failed to offer it at the end of our meal. For my other daughter, I ordered a smash burger, just pickles. It came out as ordered, but it had 2 patties. We thought that was strange for a kids meal (she's 5. It wasn't a question of her wanting the kids one). It was also quite pink in the center, which is not how you serve burgers to children. Again, no ice cream was offered. When the check came, I was charged for a regular smash burger rather than a kid's meal. She saw me going over the check again as she approached and didn't ask if I had an issue.
Overall, if I hadn't ordered kid's meals, the experience...
