Bag O' Crab — Restaurant in Vacaville

I recently visited Bag O Crab and ordered Option 2, which should have included 1 pound of snow crab legs, 1 pound of shrimp(head on), 2 corn, 2 potatoes, 4 sausage slices, a lobster tail, and 1 hard-boiled egg for $90. Unfortunately, the meal was far from worth the price.

The lobster tail and shrimp were both severely overcooked. The lobster tail was so tough it was nearly impossible to remove from the shell, let alone chew, while the shrimp were mushy from being overcooked as well. The crab legs, while cooked decently, were very small in size and nowhere close to the pound I was promised. What I actually received was closer to a cluster and a half, which I know from experience is far less than a pound. For $80, this felt like a major disappointment and a rip-off. The corn and sausage was also tough, which leave me to believe they are cooking food well in advance and to keep the food hot for consumers, they are causing it to over cook when ordered. The potatoes weren't hard, but was simply a potato with no real taste.

The sauce was another issue. I’ve seen other reviewers compare it to spaghetti sauce, and I can definitely understand why. It was extremely garlicky, thick, oily, and not something that paired well with seafood. It made dipping unenjoyable.

The only saving grace of this visit was the customer service. My server was understanding and kind, even when I mentioned my concerns about the crab leg portion size. She explained that the seafood is weighed in advance by the company, which makes me feel like the problem is bigger than just this location, perhaps. It may have also helped that I was the only customer at the time. Which again makes me wonder, if service is slow, why isn't the food being cooked at a slower rate to prevent overcooking?

Overall, I left feeling cheated and unsatisfied. I will not be recommending Bag O Crab to others, nor will I be returning. The quality and portion size simply don’t justify the high price & was simply a waste considering I couldn't enjoy the food and had to throw it out. Visited yesterday and got the C3 with king crab legs and shrimp with heads off. Also got chicken strips and fries for our 4 year old. The food was the worst that we have had in all the times we have been. The chicken strips with way overcooked and black. The fries were so overcooked they were hard. The C3 we got atomic and dynamite x and it wasn't spicy like normal. The potatoes tasted like they were bad and old and also had roots on them. We have been going to bag o crab for awhile and so far this is the worst. On top of that we payed with a gift card that had $50 and our order was $100. The lady only rang it up for $20 and we had to pay the rest and told us that you can only ring a gift card 1 time a day and no more. Very disappointed in the food quality especially for the price...

Fresh crab in Vacaville? Seafood at market price meaning pricey but this maybe the freshest in area due to the volume. Good crab, kig crab legs, shrimp and gumbo don't expect breaded coconut shrimp here like the other guys. Went with the mild atomic sauce which is a mix of their garlic/butter and their original cajun and you pick how much heat. There are family combos and you can add to it á la carte. Service was good. Could have used more napkins or wet wpies. Be prepared...its messy. They did pack some plastic gloves if you don't wanna ruin...
