So the wife and daughter went today Friday @ around 10:30 am. The place was full i counted 53 people. Had about a 20 min wait. A gathering of hungry diners began to build and since it was about 40 degrees outside it began to get quite tight in the little area just inside the doorway. Getting close to the end of our wait the server requested that we wait outside and while everyone else that came in behind us went out we did not. My wife suggested we do as well but since we were already standing fo 20 minutes a said absolutely not. We were seated about 5 minutes later. I noticed they had only ONE server and she was very busy to say the least. There was another woman behind the counter but she seemed occupied with counter patrons and the tablet that they enter the sales and collect payments with so I'm thinking they should get at least one more highly trained server to keep the wait down. Now my wife and i both orderd the California omelet with rosemary garlic potatoes for me and grits for her with a side of sausage patty my daughter had a BLT with fries the food was fantastic and well portioned the English muffins were perfect and while my daughter thought the bacon was a bit too long under the heat lamps the sandwich was good and her fruits were perfect and hot. The only lacklustre item was the sausage, it was good but in my opinion could use a bit more flavor but it was cooked perfect. The lemonade my daughter ordered didn't show up but we weren't charged, and no coffee refills or even a warm up was offered (we think that's because our server was busy handling the whole place). So would we eat there again? Yes the food was great but they really need more servers and a bit more attention to detail like checking on the guests at least once for coffee warm ups, extra napkins, and just to make sure we were happy with everything. Priced average. Oh and they should consider removing the "reserved" table at the entrance and put in a seating area for waiting and maybe a couple of propane overhead heaters if guests are going to have to wait outside in the cold. I would have given only 3 stars but the food...
Read moreWalked into this establishment with my beautiful kids, feeling like we weren't welcomed. Didn't know we were being served by the owner until the end. Her other workers had better customer service skills than she did. I asked for her opinion on 2 different meals as it was our first time visiting there. She suggested the sweet potato hash, and it came oily and really spicy. I asked her to switch the order for something else. She got mad saying it cost her money to make the food and all. I just needed her to either remake it or ask me for something else. She didn't care. Like she didn't care about us being there. We were seated before 2 other families, and she skipped us and took the other tables' orders before us. I was not happy but kept my mouth shut. Went to pay for our food, I asked her to remove the food cause I didn't eat it. She says, "Well, now we are going to have a problem." I said," Excuse me, are you threatening me? What problem do we have? I asked for the manager, and that's when I was told she was the owner. I was done. I said I won't be coming back here... She clearly has a temper and throwing one in her restaurant. All because of $14...shame. She said she would appreciate it if I didn't come back. I see how certain people are treated at these small places... what stopped her from removing the item? I was going to tip you anyway. The gesture of taking the item away and apologizing for the amount of spice in the food and the oil your chef made could save you a whole drama of $14. Being kind and good customer service goes a long way. You don't pick and choose whom you're nice to. You never know where you meet them tomorrow! Good luck with...
Read moreWhat just happened? I really want to like this place since we live within walking distance. We came in on Labor Day and even though they were busy,we were seated quickly. Our food came out pretty quick as well and it didn’t take too long to figure out why. I ordered chicken fried steak, rosemary potatoes 2 eggs over easy and pancakes. The chicken “fried” steak had to be pre-frozen and probably microwaved because it came warm with mushy breading and the steak was like rubber. The rosemary potatoes were cold and mushy and were most likely from the night before. The pancakes came out lightly cooked and had runny batter in the middle. The eggs were perfect. My wife’s pancakes were a little more cooked but still raw in the middle. Rosemary potatoes were like mine. Her bacon was pretty good. My wife pointed out how awesome the food looked at the next table and I agreed. She said a woman had recently went to the kitchen and started cooking. I asked the server who the lady is who is cooking and she said “Rachel”. Well let me tell you Rachel didn’t cook our food. What a disappointment and waste of 29$.
Yes I could have complained to the server but it may never have got back to the manager or owner. I’m hoping they tighten things up and I’m going to try them again but only if Rachel is cooking. And NO I don’t know who Rachel is and she didn’t ask me to post this. I just realized I will have to call and ask who’s cooking and that’s just awkward. I hope they just read this and fix it.I’ll give them another chance and...
