Tried Myra's again after hearing it changed hands (back? I'm not sure about the ownership politics here ), and while it was certainly better than I remember, there was still room for improvement.
The flavor profile of all the food was definitely present; I did not feel like any of what I had was lacking flavor tasted bland at all. I got a Route 66 -- a pub burger, with fries, and my wife ordered fish and chips. I also ordered a vanilla milkshake to try.
While the flavor was there, the fries in particular I felt were colder than they should have been. I had about a 4 to 5 minute drive home, so I wasn't expecting them to be piping, but they were slightly above room temperature, and I eat my fries first specifically because of how fast they lose heat.
On a semi-related note, I felt like the amount of fries that I received with my burger (a $12 price point for the burger, fries, and drink) was a little paltry. I think there were right at 20 fries in the box, and while they aren't shoestring fries, they weren't exactly the behemoths that steak fries are either.
My burger warm was warm and tasted pretty good, I also tried a bite of my wife's fish, and it tasted wonderful and hot. The milkshake was made with real ice cream and milk, and tasted very similar to something you would make at home, so no complaints on the flavor at all.
Service was great, The person that helped me with my order was very patient and pointed out their printed menus when I was having trouble waiting for their electronic display to circle back around, and she had a friendly and knowledgeable answer for every question I had.
The atmosphere inside didn't seem to have changed much from the last time we were in there, still very evidently a '50s diner, for better or worse, but I do think it looked a little cleaner than I remembered it looking, so marks for that.
The TL;DR is that it's still certainly not my go-to restaurant, but it's now one I might visit on occasion if I'm feeling like a burger in town but not wanting something as cheap...

Read moreIm hoping this message finds the owner or a manager. I am NOT one to complain to a business, but felt you needed to know this one. For one, it may cost you your septic system otherwise. While my husband ordered milkshakes at the window tonight, i took our two children to the bathroom. My potty training kid couldn’t wait in the line for women’s bathroom so we used the mens. It was disgusting to say the least (soaked paper towels, towel rack hanging off the wall, pubic hair all over the urinal), but also no toilet paper. I sent my other child that was still waiting in line to get toilet paper from an employee. She gave us paper towels and said thats all they had. I just put the paper towels on top of your trash can, because you cant flush that. Not to mention the staff acted like i was a huge bother for asking for toilet paper… when we went to the women’s bathroom for the older child, not much better. Looked like the toilet was leaking something all behind it and was in the floor, and no paper towels in this one. If customers don’t have the basics to wash their hands, i doubt even your employees are washing. I’ve been going to Myra’s for over 30 years now, but this last time may be my last after the less than friendly staff and disgusting environment. I hope that this is helpful and maybe the staff can step it up on simple bathroom...
