This was our first time visiting, since they moved to this new location. Compared to their last location, this spot is by far a huge upgrade. They've only been here for just over a month, so I'm sure they will begin to pack it in. The space is the building where The Front Room used to be, right on the waterfront. The crowd was pretty light. A full bar is available if that's what you like. Our seats were at a window, with views of the Mare island straights and the old shipyard. We started with the calamari, which I forgot to take a picture of. It was enjoyable. Not the best I've had, and definitely not the worst. My wife had the surf n turf. Filet mignon and lobster tail with mashed potatoes. She said her meal was just ok. The salad that came with it, she absolutely loved. She said the cranberries that came on the salad put it through the roof. I startes with a cup of clam chowder. It was ok, but not the best I've had. I guess im spoiled with the chowder from Splash Cafe in Pismo. I then had the ribeye with double roasted veggies. It was tasty, but unfortunately, a little overcooked from what I ordered. The first time I ate at Manny's, the ribeye blew my socks off. The last two times....so so. The second time, my ribeye was very undercooked. This third time, a little overcooked. Yes, I've been to Manny's three times, and have only ordered the ribeye. Don't judge me. Hahaha Well, on a positive note, our server was very friendly and attentive to us. The time it took us to get our food was a tad bit on the slow side. It was early in the day, and they weren't that busy, so I don't know what was going on there. All in all, the ambiance was nice, the location in good, and the service was good. I haven't been scared away yet. I'll still come back sometime in the future, and try it out again.

Same great food but since this past December they're at a new location! This is DEFINITELY an upgrade from the original spot at least 3x bigger than the old location. You can also take in scenic views of the water while enjoying your meal - it's reminiscent of waterfront restaurants in Oakland/Alameda and the San Leandro Marina (except it's not as cold in Vallejo). The ferry port is just a short walk from the restaurant. A few people came fishing on the dock while we were there. Brought my dad here for his birthday and Mora did an amazing job in making sure we enjoyed the experience! When she realized she'd brought the wrong salad to our table she came and apologized for the mistake and wanted to make it right. When we told her it was fine she went ahead and sent us home with the salad we did order. Steak was cooked perfectly. Chilean sea bass was also amazing! Salmon was done right too. This service was something I hadn't seen for a while and was quite refreshing! After finding out we were celebrating my dad's birthday she had the live band (yes they also have a live band now and a full bar) play happy birthday for him. We'll definitely be back and with the size of this new location, hosting parties here is also an option now. If you're in the area definitely stop by!

Maybe I came on a bad day? I was not impressed after all the hype. The food is just ok, nothing special except the prices. Steak was tough at mid rare and lobster tail tasted like it was from frozen, not fresh. Wait staff were bringing back orders to the pass over and over again, it might have just been a bad day... The spot looks old and needed a face lift from the previous looks of the prior restaurant that was there. It was cold, drafty and aged out decore. I would like to try it again... But this was my second time coming and things seemed like they were still evolving. Let's hope things get better! Updated July 2nd 2024 Came back to try again. Noticable changes in the layout of the dinningroom. Looks better for sure. We had a parry of 12 and we were told that we were only allowed to order off a fixed menu. I disliked this as I need to have diabetic friwndly choice's. I settled on a burger served protien style and onion rings. I requested my burger EXTRA WELL DONE. I got a med rare burger and it had no seasoning that I could taste on it. This grossed me out but since I needwd to eat to take meds I pushed my way thru it. The onion rings were good... Service was friendly and the group got their food pretty quickly. I know people love this place...I dont. If your coming for the view then its great, if your coming for the food, its not so great in my opinion.

This place was great! Don’t let it’s appearance fool you. We arrived around 3:30pm on a Saturday and there were no customers. Our server was attentive and we didn’t have to wait long for our food to arrive. We ordered crab cakes for appetizer. Delicious! My husband orders the Surf and Turf (steak, lobster, baked potato). It was a 10/10! I had the classic fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp. It was ok. Nothing too special about it. The restaurant does not have a printed kids menu, but does offer dishes for kids. My son had a cheeseburger with fries, and he gobbled it up. We rate this restaurant/experience a 4.5 and very much recommend it. We will absolutely return. Our only “issue” is that the restaurant was cold. You can tell it’s an older building, as not all the lights worked, some areas were darker than others and they relied on sunlight coming through the windows. Also, we ordered tiramisu for dessert and the middle was frozen. The server did say that it was just removed from the freezer and it was to be expected. This restaurant has so much potential.

I will always give a restaurant a second chance so I may be updating this review after my next visit. Today was not the best experience. We had lunch at 11:00 a.m. The restaurant was very cold. So cold that we would have chosen a seat next to the fireplace, had it been on. The food was fine. I had a burger and onion rings. The burger met my expectations and the onion rings were very good. The service was good. The waiter checked on us several times and was very prompt about taking care of the bill when it was time. There were 3 things that were not up to par. The worst being that there was a horrible sewage smell in the restaurant as if the pipes were backed up and/or not being vented correctly. The second being that when they pulled the shades down on the windows, the shades were dirty and stained. The 3rd item I mentioned in my opening, which was the temperature inside the restaurant. I will visit again in the near futue. Hopefully next time the ambiance will be a little different and I will take the time to try the surf and turf.
