Ordered through Uber eats.
My delivery driver arrived and made sure he let me know that the restaurant was not happy with the fact that I placed an order at 8:00PM when they close at 8:30PM. I found it odd because he was apologizing to me before he even got my food from his car.
In a few minutes I would understand why my delivery driver was apologizing...It became very obvious that the restaurant wasn't happy due to the haphazard way they prepared the food.
Sorry Absolute Thai Cafe; please talk to the Uber folks about the fact that you don't want any orders placed past a certain time...don't take it out on your customer. Had I known you closed at 8:30PM and didn't want to complete my order I would have understood and happily tried another option.
The "Crispy Tiger" was inedible, the beef was obviously thrown, unseasoned, on a flat top and overcooked to the temp of warm leather. I selected the "Thai Hot" option but the few bite size pieces of beef that could be eaten without a knife had zero heat and almost as little flavor. The steamed vegetables were barely steamed, I would dare call them "raw" instead of steamed. Again...it is very hard to eat this dish without chopsticks, fork...and in this case a very sharp knife was needed. 80% of this dish went uneaten.
The house salad was a small container of rough cut iceberg lettuce and tomato/cucumber slices for $7.00. No dressing included. Undressed rabbit food to eat with your fingers...since I didn't receive any utensils.
The Tom Yum soup was also not anywhere close to the "Thai Hot" option I chose. It was pretty bland and the carrot slices in it were also raw and uncooked. It's also near impossible to eat this soup without a spoon. I was able to drink about 40% of this dish without utensils.
Next time you don't want to do a delivery order just cancel the order instead of having someone waste $60 on terrible food, no condiments, and zero utensils (which I specified that I needed in my Uber order).
Maybe the food is good...if they are in...
Read moreThis is very unfortunate that I’m writing this. I have frequented this place for years now, it’s my go to for take out and I prefer their food over the others. That being said I won’t be going there anymore and I would tell others if you are online ordering to beware. This evening the gentleman working gave my $60 order way to the person in from of me. He refused to help settle the matter and said it wasn’t his fault, that all the person has to do is come in a give the name for the order… which is clearly visible sitting in the counter. He said he already had this happen this week for $100 and he wasn’t going to be out more money. It’s clearly a flawed system and it would seem they have a scam being ran on them. I hope they for future customers they well figure out a method that would protect they’re customers as well as themselves. Oh and yes I was about to show proof of purchase and an email receipt. It’s a shame that they refused to help...
