133 Bistro — Restaurant in Van Wert

Today, I visited a lovely bistro in Van wert, Ohio, where it's nestled into a corner next to the court house named 133 Bistro. A lively spot filled with the chatter of locals. We visited around lunchtime around 12:10 to be precise. The nostalgic atmosphere of small town America seeps through the walls and gives you a sense of home feeling. That familiar comfort you know and love. Like coming back home, We were welcomed with a big hello, and that is always a precedent of how your service will be. Also, not long after arriving, there was almost a full house. We started off with what seemed to be a classic appetizer, the Combo Platter that was chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and onion rings. The chicken was juicy and tender. The onion rings were crispy and not overdone, and the mozzarella sticks were good and had actually melted cheese on the inside for a change. Lol Also (ranch lovers, they have the good ranch!) I do wish we had a little more serving size wise, but it was all delicious! We ordered burgers and fries, and they gave a huge serving of fries! I asked some of the people next to me what some local favorites were, and they told me the Phillysteak sandwiches, breakfast skillets, omelets, Burgers, and their club sandwiches! So I will order one to take home and try! I will say just seeing someone else club sandwich they look delicious and again a huge serving of fries! The waitresses were highly attentive and took great care of us! I needed one thing, and 3 servers jumped to my aide, which is so refreshing! So tip well! They deserve it! Atmosphere is small town so what’s new there. The service was ok. Don’t expect anything great and don’t expect to get your syrup or butter without seeking a server out yourself. The food… I have ate here three times and each of which has degraded from the time before. (And it didn’t start great) I was there just this morning and was served food that was cold to the touch and my “sweet” tea was anything but. We also have an infant son and the high chair they wanted him to use was Repulsive as for all the dirt and grime stuck to it (IN A RESTAURANT!!) For me the service, food, and cleanliness was terrible enough for me to leave, they didn’t even try to charge me for my meal (if that tells ya something). I will no longer be returning as it’s 1,2,3 your out. Van Wert needs a breakfast destination that is actually worth...

We stopped here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon because we were passing through town. Wow, were we impressed! They were busy but had room at the counter, sitting on stools. I was a little apprehensive at first, but it was fun being there amongst the action. The food was good and the service was even better. Everyone was so kind and helpful. They were hustling all around doing a phenomenal job. We will definitely be back!! The only thing I might suggest is a little flavoring on the hamburger patty, which by the way was plentiful☺ Did not go away hungry and for a very reasonable price. Great...
