I’ve been a loyal customer of this restaurant, regularly ordering large pizzas and eventually earning a free one through their rewards program. However, when I picked up my order recently, I had a disappointing experience.
As I arrived, one of the employees repeatedly said to his coworker, “There was no tip and he even got the free pizza,” loudly enough that it felt intentionally directed at me. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. I explained that I normally leave a generous tip when I dine in, but I don’t believe tipping is necessary when I personally drive to the restaurant and pick up my order.
Yes, the pizza was free, but only because I earned it after ordering more than ten pizzas. It wasn’t a handout; it was a reward for being a frequent customer. I don’t appreciate being treated like I’m taking advantage of something, especially when I’ve supported this business over and over.
I understand tipping culture is changing, but I don’t think it justifies making a loyal customer feel uncomfortable for not tipping on a carryout order. This experience left a bad taste, and not because...
Read moreI had high hopes for Blind Onion Pizza, but my recent visit was a big disappointment. From the moment I walked in, I felt like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. The employee at the counter, Harley, was incredibly rude and dismissive. When I asked for some basic information about the menu, Harley acted like it was a chore to answer my questions, barely making eye contact and offering short, uninterested responses.
To make matters worse, the pizza itself was mediocre at best. The crust was soggy, and the toppings were unevenly distributed. It's clear that quality and customer service are not priorities here.
Overall, I would not recommend Blind Onion Pizza. There are plenty of other pizza places in town that actually care about their customers and serve decent food. Save your time and money and...
Read moreBlind Onion has great pizza. It is very different than most pizza due to the excellent crust. I never thought about dipping my pizza crust in honey, but with their suggestion, I love it. I purchased Blind Onion pizza way back to their first pizza place on Broadway in Portland. I have filled up more "buy 10 get one free" pizzas than I can count. While the dine in environment is nothing special, that could be improved, I take out 99% of the time. But they do have good beers on tap when dining in. My only complaint on the service is that on a couple of occasions, they prioritized a phone in order over me standing there wanting to place my order. In person visitors should never be subject to waiting on them taking a phone order. Easy enough to put people on the phone on hold. But overall I highly recommend the...
