Still a fantastic place to eat, no surprise. Staff are still amazing and vibes wonderful as always. Came here today for my 49th birthday and due to an accident on hwy 14, part of our group was delayed. They let us wait, and bring in our dessert to share. Cannot recommend this place enough!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Ok. Ok, ok, ok...Hear me out here. I've never been to Philly. I don't know what an authentic Philly Cheesesteak is like. I've dreamed, of course, and I can say that I'm gonna have to up my dream game cause the Loaded Bilmo met and exceeded those naive dreams o' mine. I got an education coming in here because I had no idea what Amoroso Bread was, but I can tell you that I'd heard about it in Kyle Kinane's comedy act so when they started bouncing the terminology round at Bilmo's, I sat up and paid attention. The bread is spongy but pillowy with a delightful chew. The meat is tender and juicy with plenty of cheese, piquant peppers and lots of onions and mushrooms. I'd also like to add that they have cannolli. Now I've seen The Godfather plenty of times, love the movie, but had never really understood the phrase "Leave the gun - take the cannolli". Until now. No wonder Clemenza reminded Rocco to bring them, they may have just committed murder but the true crime would have been to leave the cannolli behind. Go, you won't be disappointed. Unfortunately I did not have a great experience or great food from this place. It was our first time ordering from here. We ordered through door dash and selected to pick up our order. When my husband arrived to pick up they told him they did not have our order. The order was confirmed and we were notified it was ready to pick up so this was confusing. They told my husband he would need to place the order there since they didn’t have it. So my husband ordered again in person without realizing we had already paid for the full order through door dash. He asked them to check again for the order after I let him know this and they ended up finding it. They did refund us for the order placed in person. So our hot food had been siting there for 20 minutes at this point. When we went to eat it everything was cold. The cheese fries just look gross and are way way undercooked. The regular fries look like they were just dipped in oil but not cooked. My husband said his Italian sandwich was good (cold sandwich) my chicken parmigiana sandwich was completely cold. What a fantastic find! First, I love supporting local independent places so I am thrilled we found Philly Bilmos. With my hometown being New Jersey and knowing the owner is also from Jersey, I’m thrilled to have a cheesesteak and hoagie shop in Vancouver who knows what the real sandwiches are supposed to be and makes them even better. I went for the cheesesteak and let me tell you, the bread is fresh and soft, perfect! The steak was diced up just right with the cheese melted into it, the peppers (banana and cherry peppers) made the sandwich delicious! The meat must be good quality as well because the sandwich was not dripping in grease and it tasted very good also. And then there are the homemade cannolis, reminiscent of Italian bakeries in South Philly! Wow, just wow…so yummy! Since they are homemade there are not a lot prepared at one time. You may have to go back for those if they’re out, ohhh so worth it! The Philly Bilmos staff are super pleasant too, making this first time experience amazing and for sure this will be my go to!
