Definitley the most epic establishment on earth. anyone who says otherwise is wrong. Sorry. They are wrong, though.
The staff are pleasant and courteous. They always offer to remake my shake if it tastes reminiscent of cottage cheese or sour cream, because apparently a shake is a rare order at del taco (who knew? You can sign up for a free one on your birthday and everything). I typically grin and bear it because it has never been "that" bad, in fact, more so, rather good. I appreciate the courtesy far too much to trouble them with making another one. Additionally, given my 12 shakeperminute pace it would appear questionable if I returned for a "re-do" after finishing the first.
Their shakes vary in quality, sometimes they turn out really well, creamy, chucks of strawberry and rich flavor. It will leave you amazed you're at a fast food joint that also sells some sort of cheesy potatoes and bean dish. However, sometimes they taste similar to what one would imagine a slurpee combined with heavy whipping cream to taste. I appreciate both, but some may not...
The atmosphere here is generally quiet, but this will depend on your visiting hours. I have methodically mapped the quiet hours. I have found it is nice for studying and reading, the weekday lunch crowd is generally older. Night brings more "rambunctious" folks to visit, but what can you expect with about 10 marijuana shops on hwy 99 alone? Not to mention the rep Hazel Dell gets. In the end if you leave them alone they leave you alone.
It is rather chilly during the evening hours, but during the day it is pleassntly temperate, espescially compared to the majority of fast food chains. You don't feel the rush here, it's laid back-- take all of the hot sauce you want, and then some, want to drink straight from the soda fountain? No, they dont allow that, but maybe one day... I haven't seen a better fast food establishment in my life. Highly recommend. Don't leave hazel dell without stopping at this joint or you'll...
Read moreI came here to try it out. The building outside and inside looks nice. That is all that is nice.
I went with my girlfriend, I asked the lady for a moment while I read the menu board in the drive thru.
After a minute I said I'm ready and proceeded to tell my order.
No response. I waited about 3-4 minutes then said hello. She came back and asked what I would like.
I proceeded to tell my order. She then asked my what I would like.
I am not sure what is wrong with there mic system, but she became very hostile after the 4th time telling the order.
She rudely asked questions from this point, as if I was being inconsiderate of her time.
I finally gave up, after multiple times not being able to understand her from her mumbling and being upset. I just left.
I complained to corporate and the resolution was 10 dollar voucher. Whew. That doesn't fix a thing.
The manager reached out and apologized but really didn't have any empathy or sympathy and said I'll give you a meal on us.
I tried the food finally. It is not good food. Very corporate tasting mexican food with no love in the process.
Highly don't recommend this place.
Try El Jefe Instead down the...
Read moreI'm frequently eating here and I have noticed the atmosphere not for customers but the employees it's horrible, I feel really bad mostly the Hispanic ladies working there. I have seen this young gentleman a few times,( I'm assuming it is the manager or the owner, ) demanding them to do more than they can with only a couple people in the kitchen, they are humans and they can do so much at the time. If he could wear an apron and help instead of get frustrated and call them names the store could run smoother like he wants to. Maybe In his culture it is ok to humiliate the employees in public. Again I'm just assuming he is Indian or Arab. I'm really bad at guessing people's ethnicity, but I believe you should praise In public And criticize in private. Del Taco should not just sell franchises but also provide proper management training for store Managers and owners. Now if any of the employees read this review, stay strong and know that you are doing a great job! don't let a bad manager...
