This was our second visit. On both visits, our service was a little slow, but friendly. There is a middle section of the restaurant that I will affectionately call "the island". There is only one way in and out of the section. There are pros and cons to this. You will have a quieter meal, but some might feel forgotten sitting there, because your server never passes you. You only see them if you are their final destination. I do not have any complaints about the service. However, I cannot say that I have been impressed by the food at all. My first meal there was a burger, which did not have much flavor. I did enjoy the tetris tots and Mexican Hot Chocolate, though! My second meal was the Mallory(?), which was a sliced steak with mashed Redskins and vegetables. The steak was tender and cooked to my specifications, but I could not eat it with the sauce it was in. The sauce was much too salty for me, and I could not scrape enough of it off to make it edible. I ate the broccoli (which was a tad underdone) and a few bites of potato (which something seemed off about them, but we couldn't pinpoint what it was), and I was done. I decided to try to bring it home to my bottomless pit sons to see if they could eat it. When the manager came by to check on us, I do believe she would have tried to make it right had I said something then, but I do not like complaining at restaurants, and I also was not sure what could be done at that point. I didn't want it remade, and nothing else on the menu was going to work for me, so I decided to let it go. My husband had the Black and Bleu burger and said that (and I have never heard him say this before) there was too much bleu cheese on it. Maybe the meat was over-salted? He was able to scrape enough off that the burger was better, and he finished off the whole thing. My daughter had the chicken tenders and thought they were good. I think they make their own BBQ sauce. Bottom line, we are not coming back. But if you are not as salt-sensitive as we are, you may enjoy the from-scratch choices and especially the Mexican Hot Chocolate, which was honestly the best part of...
Read moreWish I could give more stars but after our experience, I just can’t. We came in Super Bowl Sunday- the bar was busy but not packed. There was a server with blonde hair and a referee jersey on that took care of us. On multiple occasions she forgot our drinks and food. We were understanding that she was serving multiple customers and offered grace for the delays/ forgetfulness. The food would take 30-40 minutes to be served and the drinks took the same amount of time. My friends chicken in her wedge salad was chewy and undercooked but we continued to order drinks and other appetizers throughout the game. When the game was over we asked for our tab. There was a cash price and a debit price as they charge 3.5% for the debit /Credit purchases. We paid in cash and she came back to us telling we owed more than the cash price listed. She was charging the debit price for a cash payment and after she took our payment and brought no change she then said under her breath “why don’t you B’s go back to your own bar” I looked around as I surely didn’t think she was talking to us… however she was and was assuming we were not going to give a tip. Because my friend and I were splitting the tab we thought we would get change back (since there was a cash and debit price) and could split the tip accordingly from that. We were charged the debit price despite giving cash. My friend then asked if the two totals included tip or not, which she responded in a rude manor that it did not. She then continued to make rude remarks under her breath. I gave her and additional $20 for tip and she didn’t even thank us for it. The reaction from the waiter was awful to say the least. She gave us not only horrible service but a nasty attitude. She honestly didn’t deserve a tip at all after those remarks and is the sole reason we will not be returning. We are locals to the area and we will be advising our friends and family to beware of the establishment as well. Do better. This was a very...
Read moreI got a text today saying.... Celebrate Mom at Grady's w/ specials like a Monte Cristo, Mimosas, Red Velvet Cupcakes & more! Brunch is 10am-1pm. So we went in right around 11 am. They were not busy at all, as soon as we walked in we were told to pick a seat anywhere. We were given menus, and I was disappointed I did not see Monte Cristo on the very little menu, so we asked about it. The waitress very snarky said they on the lunch menu at 1:00. My husband told her I got a text about it. She snapped and said yes it's on the Lucy menu. I opened my text and showed her it says between 10 and 1. She was extremely rude and snapped at me and said again it's at 1:00. I don't know what to tell you. I looked at my husband and said let's go, I'm not gonna be treated like this on Mother's day. We waited for her to come back so we could get the bill for his iced tea. She came back and said it was miscommunication with the kitchen staff since she had just returned from 4 days off and said he had the stuff out to go ahead and make my sandwich. I told her no I didn't want to be a issue. She said it's no issue we can go ahead and do it. She changed her tone and never did apologize. The sandwich was OK, the potatoes would have been good if they washed them. They tasted like dirt but they were cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy, he was not a fan of the heavy amount of paprika on it and the dry biscuits. The place looked clean and could have potential but as long as that waitress is there I won't return and suggest you don't either unless of course you want to be treated like crap. Also we noticed the amount we were charged was different than what's on the menu. So watch your bill closely. We didn't dare question it. I could only imagine how we would have been treated. It really sucked to be treated like this on Mother's Day. And no there was no Mimosas or cupcakes either lol as...
