Kirkpatricks Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Vancouver

Best price breakfast in Vancouver. The catch is they don't open until 9am. Kirkpatrick's has 6 different breakfast specials that are just $8 each. Coffee is $3.25. Together it's just $11.25 total. The bacon and eggs are good. The over easy eggs were spot on. They give you three good size pieces of bacon. Be sure to tell them how you like the bacon cooked. The toast is garden variety, white toast. The coffee is ok. The chicken fried steak is about as good as it gets. The French toast looks great. VIBE: I not a fan of the obligatory TVs and loud volume at sports bars. But the TVs at Kirkpatrick's aren't obnoxious and the volume is off at 9:30am. You can talk comfortably. The bar has a half dozen beers on tap and a few token wines. No craft cocktails here. Just one sweet vermouth (Martini & Rossi) and it's not refrigerated. But they're well equipped for pedestrian cocktails. The proprietor, Kevin is very friendly and takes pride in his work. Ordered grilled cheese and added ham, and tots in place of fries. also ordered breaded mushrooms.

I've ordered the same items before and they were great. The greasy bread usually transfers grease onto everything you touch and is crispy. And the fried food is still hot with steam rising.

I live a couple of blocks away and was hungry for these items, so I had them delivered. They didn't have very far to travel.

After checking it out I took a bite. The sandwich was cold. Warm enough to make the American cheese stick to the bread, but cold enough so the ham was just pulled out of the fridge. The tots were cold also. $9 for 2 pcs of plastic cheese that didn't cover the bread & 2 pcs of dry toast + $2 for cold ham.

Have you ever had cold fried Breaded Mushrooms? They are rubbery. These weren't cooked long enough. I included a pic. They weren't cooked enough to retain the heat. Without the tip, I paid about $25 for this bland, undercooked, cold food.

I used to have a five star review to this place. Now let me start by saying the owner is fantastic and what he's done with the place is amazing! They have a great area to play pool and hands down best bar food. My husband and I have been going to this bar before the owner bought it so we have some history. We paid our tab and went home. After looking over my receipt I realized we were over charged for our beers by a couple too many. Now, not recognizing this there is definitely my fault but all I would say is to be aware of your tab and what you're ordering. I actually noticed before we left a gentlemen was complaining about the charges on his bill as well so I don't think we were the only ones this happened to.
