Sellberg's Tavern — Restaurant in Vancouver

Ok, if you are looking for a trendy bar that serves $20 cocktails that you had to wait 30 minutes for, then this is probably not the bar for you.

This bar is cozy and the atmosphere is what I loved about the place. Yes, it would be described as a dive bar, but not the type that you might picture where seedy transactions and shady people are gathering.

This place has personality and plenty of friendly people who will actually chat with you and get to know you. It attracts a good crowd but you will still receive fast and friendly service. The food was tasty; don't expect a fancy meal, the menu is populated by traditional bar style comfort foods such as hamburgers, fries, and pizza, but its all delicious. The drinks are also reasonably priced and mixed well.

There is shuffle board and several pool tables, plenty of room at the bar, tables inside, and there is also an outdoor fenced in patio area.

Best part: The bathrooms are spotless! I was there with friends for several hours and the condition of the bathroom never changed; everything was clean and well stocked.

First time! My opening comment to my husband as we entered was “this place is too clean to be a dive bar”. The decor is very dated - but the place isn’t “worn” at all! Comfortable and cool inside. Some music playing inside would’ve added to the ambience a LOT.

We immediately were greeted and made to feel welcome! That was awesome! Good selection of beers - I had the ecliptic IPA. Lots of games and pool tables! Not very crowded at 530pm on a Saturday, but it if was there would still be ample seating.

We only came in for one drink, and we chose to enjoy the nice outdoor area. It badly needs some shade back there, but we found a nice little shaded nook to sit in.

This place is a dive bar on the outside in a neighborhood you don't really wanna be in on the outside and a gem on the inside I didn't try the food because I didn't feel like deep fried greasy bar food but they have a good selection in beer an amazingly friendly staff and atmosphere Hell they even have pinball . which is reason enough to go by my standards . surprisingly empty in a Friday night which is fine by me especially when all I wanted was a drink and to play some pool which they have 3 empty tables for I might add.
