I didn't really want to leave a less than stellar review as I try to be understanding of issues, things happen, delays come up. Evenings get busy. I'm happy to wait if things are backed up because I know the crew is doing their best to get things out the door. Nobody WANTS to delay a customer's order, of course!
That said, this has been an ongoing issue that has been getting frustrating to keep dealing with, and it seems to be getting worse, with either messed up orders or crazy long wait times in the curbside space.
We do curbside orders with Red Robin probably once or twice a month, sometimes more often depending on how the mood suits us. Lately it has suited us less because it's such a hit and miss whether the experience will be good or not. (For the record, the in house dining experience is generally solid!) Typically it's an issue of wrong number of sauces or maybe a missed modification here or there, maybe minor wait (ten minutes or so) to get the curbside order. Not a huge deal, it happens!
It seems like over time we've had to wait longer and longer for our curbside orders at this location. Yesterday (7/14, placed at 6:24PM) I arrived to pick up the food just past 7PM, roughly 20m after the order was supposed to be ready because I know sometimes the ready time doesn't account for busy Friday evenings, it's all good. I called the number and was advised it would be brought out when it was ready in a few minutes. No indication of major delays, at that time. Fair enough!
So I waited. It was a nice evening, just chilling in the car with the dog, enjoying the weather.
And waited. They're probably just busy.
Waited some more, too. I'm sure they didn't forget.
After twenty additional minutes of waiting, I finally called again.
I finally received it in hand at around 7:40p, just short of an hour after it should have been ready. The fries and burger were cold and the normally great salad was not doing too hot either from sitting in the bag with the once hot food. Since it certainly was not as fresh as usual, I suspect that the order had been sitting on the shelf for a while and for whatever reason it simply didn't get brought out.
I was really craving those fresh steak fries and when the order comes out roughly on time, they're good to go. Tonight was definitely not one of those times.
I will say, I wasn't very impressed to see people bringing dogs into the indoor seating area of the restaurant while I sat there waiting for my order. Based on the way the dog was behaving as they walked in, it was obvious that it was not a trained service animal, and just a pet.
Overall, not one of the finest moments for this location which has previously been one of my favorite RRs in the area. I hope things improve because I do enjoy the heck outta...
Read moreIt's taken me a long time to write this review, actually since October. I keep meaning to, but I've been putting it off. We didn't mean to go here, we don't typically eat out at restaurants, but we had to take out cat to the veterinary hospital next door. They quoted us a procedure, and we decided to go for it, it was $600 for the least amount of care, or $6000 for the most, (we couldnt afford it, so we went for the $600). They said it'd be a few hours before she'd be stable - but then we could take her home and focus on longterm care, and to go find something to eat/do and they'd call us when they were done. There was fluid around her lungs, not sure why, but it was making it hard for her to breathe. We decided to get food, it was a long day for us (between work and the vet's). We drove over next door to the red Robin's, sat down to eat, talk about the cat's long term care, and ordered. Server was nice, can't remember her name for the life of me, she had dark black hair and was young. Then we got a call, way too soon. Mandi (the cat) passed the moment she was sedated. My brother started crying immediately while on the phone, my mum rushed to the bathroom to cry, and I waived over the waiter. I asked for the order to be changed to "to-go". I didn't want to walk out on the bill, we oredered like 5 minutes before and our appetizer was already out. She asked what was wrong and I told her our cat passed at the vet hospital. She was kind, said that was no problem, went back, and apparently talked to the manager. We waited for the food to come, and then to pay. Instead the manager came out to serve the food, I can't remember her name either, she came over and said, "the meal's on us, sorry about your cat." Queue, all of us began bawling our eyes out at once. We rushed out and took care of the cat. But I wanted to give my most sincere thanks to the crew that night. We were there probably an 45 minutes - hour before close, probably an inconvenience, and yet they treated us so kindly. It wasn't much, but that act of kindness made everything just a little bit more...
Read moreThis review is not to insult our server who was kind and over worked. My sister and I went for lunch here last week and it was a mess without grace. My sister's first burger was wrong so our server had it remade. Before she walked away she was reminded "You heard no bbq right? Gluten free again, please". She took my sister's plate away but didn't offer fries or anything while we waited 10 minutes. Well the second burger had bbq. My burger had the wrong toppings but I ate it and ordered new fries since mine were cold on the inside and I had to wait 10 minutes for more with my burger. During this whole interaction the manager was close by. Even cleaning tables next to ours. He never came by to apologize, and when the server said the kitchen had messed up a lot that afternoon, I would have expected the manager who was often leaning on a counter, to come over. I had to go find him to tell him, but he said she ordered the burger that comes with bbq and shrugged at us. Yes. We asked for none. She told him she can't eat it and he (no joke) looked off to the side with his FINGER IN HIS EAR SCRATCHING and ASKED, "did you want me to take that off?" Believe it or not, we were still being patient and kind to all staff. Even when my sister was experiencing an allergic reaction from the sauce. I have been going to this location for too long. Next time I'll drive further. Our drinks weren't refilled. They never brought fresh fries or even offered while we waited for our meals. When I asked for more salt, I was brought the second shaker, and I went off for my own because they all had almost no salt (indicating it was old). The manager treated us like we were scamming them. We didn't even use our rewards bc we wanted to get the hell out of there, but the machine didn't print the receipt. Our final interaction with the manager to get the receipt was the cherry on top. He could have cared less and couldn't wait for us to leave. Yea, neither...
