This restaraunt is HORRIBLE!! We walked in the door and we read the sign that said "wait to be seated", so we waited. Then we were told to go to the other side of the restaraunt near the register so we would be seen and seated from there. We did. Then we were talking while we were waiting and I guess someone told us to follow them (we didn't hear them). Then they got our attention and we apologized that we didn't hear him, he then said "I told you to follow me 4 times but you were on your phone!" Now jump ahead to our meal.....1order of French toast and bacon for me and 1 Greek Omelet, potatoes and toast for my husband......The Greek Omelet was NASTY!! He took 2 bites and couldn't finish it. (Which he ALWAYS finishes his food. He never wastes food!). We told the waitress and her response was, "I don't know what would be wrong with it, we sell a lot of them". She did offer something else, but we said no. We asked if we could be charged for just the potatoes, she said yes but we would have to tell the manager at the register. We asked if she could infom the manager, she then brought us our bill and said the manager took off part of the bill. (FYI....the Omelet meal was $10, she took off $4.50......Which would make the potatoes and toast $5.50). So I went to pay the bill and the manager and the waitress were talking about our problem...The manager was aggregated. I didn't say anything, but I grabbed a menu to see how much a side of potatoes and toast were, only to find out that the total cost is $4.50, but I got flustered and didn't argue with the manger about that because she was quick to ask me if there was a problem. I told her I was the one with the nasty Omelet and I just wanted to see how much the sides were. She hatefully apologized for the Omelet. I told her it was ok and she said "no it's not ok". And I was told again that they sell a lot of them. OBVIOUSLY this one was NASTY!!
Needless to say I refrained from telling her that "it's ok because we will NEVER go back AND we will be telling everyone to not...
Read moreHi Guys, can't support you anymore. I know Patches has been sold and is under new management; it wasn't the most up-to-date interior (let's face it, the place was a greasy spoon, but it was a good one), but the idea you can slap a bunch of paint on there, raise the prices, and replace most of the staff isn't working. The food comes out almost warm (if that), there is no care/ or no quality control anymore. Eggs are dry like you cooked up a batch and just have them sitting under a warm light as they dry out... Biscuits are total garbage now (used to be hot, they would ask if you wanted them on the griddle... Now it seems they just pull a like warm biscuit and throw it on the griddle for a second, and it's just a half greasy brick). Potatoes are always half raw, Waffles are just about bland and rubbery; Corned Beef & hash is undercooked on the regular, the eggs Benedict no comes out on 2 untoasted English muffins, while the hollandaise sauce has become an overly salty mess.
This week I had the pleasure of pulling a giant hair outta my food... and I could go on, but it unnecessary.
Shorter/ post middle-aged waitress is just aloof, while the newer staff members (I could only assume they are family members of the new ownership), have no personality/ sense of hospitality.
I've really given this a few months now, tried all different menu options, and the reality is, you guys just can't cook the food (that was probably the best part about patches... The food was cooked, hot, maybe not perfect, but the old staff just did a better job.
Such a disappointment that you new owners can't get the basics I'm running a restaurant...
Read moreCute little Cafe. Was seated at once. And asked what I wanted for a drink. Had coffee and it was delivered fast and was perfect. Then I ordered 2 eggs ,bacon , potatoes and rye bread . It did take a little time for it to get out to the table ,but was perfect. Was listening to the table next to me they had ordered liver but I was not sure with what but the waitress had to take it back twice .but I have to say the waitress waited right there for the gentleman to cut into and make sure it was done the right way easy time. Success was had 3rd time was the charm. I do believe they are training a new cook. Or like every place I've been out in the area restaurants. they all are complaining that they can not get cooks . So it's slow going on getting food out. But just as delicious. The place was clean and all customers seemed yo be happy with what they ordered and the waitresses did come around after they see you had a bite or two to ask how is it. They were was helpful and refilling the coffee on time. I recommend this...
