El Jarocho is definitely one of the top Mexican food joints on the Ave, especially now that we're down one with Ortiz Taco Time having changed ownership. They are well know for their seafood.
Most things Ive had here have been really good and this is my go to spot for Chile Relleno burritos- super fresh, prepared daily. Really excellent salsa bar with a wide selection.
The one item I've had here that I wouldnt order again but would still recommend is the Ceviche. Just a little too "authentic" for my taste but alot of people love it.
Now, on the other hand, the one item that I would never order again or reccomend to anyone is the pastor. Possibly the most unappetizing take on this item I've ever had the displeasure of trying... basically tastes like it was marinated in ketchup, maybe with with a little mesquite seasoning added, then just cooked off.
PLEASE JAROCHO- FIX THIS. It's an insult to the quality of...
Read moreWent in around 5pm to grab us dinner took about 25 min or so to get food which is fine and food was fine chicken nuggets were a little over cooked but that is nothing I would make a big deal about, Came home with a fountain Coke and we got more than half of it down when a nail came up the straw me thinking it was a tiny piece of melted ice until I realized it wasn’t melting in my mouth! I’ve never ever had something like this happen I understand accidents happen but this was disgusting it wasn’t even a clean nail and to think that it was in our drink the whole time! Like I mentioned I don’t usually complain or anything not even with hair in my food I cut hair for a living so I’m used to it but a dirty nail!?? And they were already closed when we got to it so I couldn’t even call and let them know! Maybe wear gloves to prevent this stuff from...
Read moreThere’s so many great seafood spots in the area but we came across this one on Yelp and it did not disappoint. We ordered the shrimp ceviche, the mixed ceviche, and fish tacos. All were fresh, flavorful, and the portions were good. The grilled fish tacos are definitely big but yummy! My favorite were the salsas 🤤 THEY WERE ALL AMAZINGLY AUTHENTIC. I haven’t been to a restaurant that has 5 homemade salsas that all taste fantastic, 10/10.
The restaurant and parking lot are both small but they do have some tables out front and there is street parking available. They are busy and people were sharing the few available seats. Its a friendly community that will pass the large hot sauce around for everyone to have some.
Small side note, the prices you see online are definitely accurate. Just FYI.
I definitely recommend and plan to...
