Please read the whole review …We went to this restaurant on Friday 27th of June. I am very picky about food Aesthetic cleanness , And I do not trust easily on people, but three of my friend from Ventura recommended this place to me. I gave it a try The first impression Was not that great just because it does not look clean to me the chairs and the tables and the aesthetic looks super old and Dirty There is a difference between old and dirty and vintage.. I’m pregnant so I was craving Indian food so much so I ignored everything and ordered food I ordered samosa Chana chat and alu tiki chat The food came quickly and was presented nice and hot As I told you I’m pregnant and was hungry so I started eating faster. That’s not me usually doing it. I always have to dig in and see everything but I was so hungry. I start eating. Allu tiki As my sister and husband was serving their self I took few bites , my husband found a big big EARWIG its a insect aka keeda in the allu tiki chat he did not told me at the restaurant. He just told me it’s a Hair because he don’t wanna make me feel discussed about the situation He don’t wanna make a scene so he just go to the cashier talk to her she was sorry about the situation…. And we leave Now I am putting this review today because I found out today that it was not hair . It was a whole freaking insect In my food as I mention, I’m pregnant. I did get sick and stomach issues And I am pure vegetarian I’m writing this because I don’t know if the owner was there or not or the manager or whoever is responsible for this Situation This is not something that you should do as in a business owner. just imagine how bad the situation can be as an a pregnant I’m eating that and getting so much stomach issues after.. but I hope you guys understand that this can be dangerous for...
Read moreGood food, had better but it's authentic for sure. Liked the desserts and drink options, I tried them all- I like the milk cakes, but it aint for everyone (im Asian, not picky with my food I prefer it simple, although I never hate on new things, I never let people claim authenticity on foods if its not fact). I am very analytical/specific with my foods. Had the paneer(cheese) naan. Was shredded cheese, i was expecting melted so it could have been better. Curry and rice portions were perfect, I was full and satisfied with no it is off of one curry and rice. Didn't go spicy with my curry cuz I wanted to actually taste the flavors of the curry, so I cant account for how the spicier currys taste. Shared my dessert and drinks. Im very picky with my food places because there are so many places to try, so I would introduce someone to this place, but personally I would not go back.
Covid regulations-Must have mask, to go only (Idk about delivery) no sit down, 6 feet (less than 8 people in the shop at a time), you can order and stay inside to wait for food unless too many people come in at once then you must wait outside (they will either call you in or give you the food once ready) hand...
Read moreIt was between 3 and 4 stars so I rounded up because they have gluten free items. The restaurant is cute and priced in the lower range for Ventura. There were some vegetarian options but I did not try them. I am celiac and did fine with the chicken tiki masala. My husband had the lamb curry. We thought that they had a nice level of spice but not a lot of taste. We are pretty hard on our restaurants because we rarely eat out and want to crave the food for the next few days. We have had 4 different tiki Masala since we moved to SoCal and have not been impressed with any of them. We felt that this one was OK. We will keep the search going. If you go to Denver we highly recommend Yak and Yetti, the ones in Arvada and Westminster. The bathroom was dirty. It had a thick layer of dust on the sink and the toilet was dirty. There was a dog inside the restaurant laying down while the owners ate. It was well behaved and we love dogs but we always eat on a patio with ours. I am not sure how sanitary it is to have them inside. The kitchen is open for everyone to see the cook making the food. The kitchen looked clean. Overall, we would go back but would most likely go to Rice by Mama's...
