Starbucks — Restaurant in Vernon Hills

Habitually slow. Sometimes unfriendly. Drinks are consistently good though. Still, what keeps people coming back is usually the staff. This place needs to work on their staff. Better training and better scheduling. I sat at the drive thru window for 9 minutes before calling out "Hello". The employee had said "it will just be a moment." I am relatively patient, just not when I need to get back to work. 9 minutes before even ordering is aggravating when there is only one or 2 cars at the window and I am way back by the ordering speaker. I probably would understand if this location was ALWAYS crowded. But its rarely crowded when I come around lunch. So... no real excuse for the less than on par service I have come to expect from a Starbucks. There is a better one on my way to work but its a hike. Shame this place wasn't better. It would become my twice a day...

Every time I order a drink they miss something. Either forgot a shot, forgot the syrup, or forgot whip cream. I called and told them I wasn't going to pick up my mobile order because I underestimated the time. They said they would write it down and I can come pick it up the next day. I show up give them my name and situation, they seemed to have no knowledge of it. I placed 2 specialized drinks, very customized, and they asked me to what did I want. I don't remember off the top of my head and I was pressed for time because I thought they had written all this down. So I ended up getting two different drinks. One of them was a venti latte for my friend and cause I was in a rush, I forgot to ask for alternative milk and hes lactose intolerant. I went here this afternoon with a pal on lunch from work, as I frequently do since it’s right across the street from my office. I always get good drinks and great service here. Today though, I have to review because of the cashier. While in the drive thru line, I was talking to my friend about how bad of a day I was having and ordered a venti hot coffee. My friend ordered a latte. When we got to the drive thru window, the sweet young lady working at the window let me pay for the latte but told me that the coffee was on her and she hopes I have a better day. I wish I remembered her name! She was so sweet and just the simple wish that I have a better day really turned my day...
