Friendly's — Restaurant in Vernon

Friendly's remains the family favorite for the delicious ice cream and spectacular food. Today (07-17-2020), we went there for indoor dining. Must I say it was nice & quiet. We socially distanced and we had a great time. What I had there was a platter of Clam Strips and a lot of fries. They were so good. My favorite thing at Friendly's is either anything Seafoody or the Birthday Cake/Rockin' Poppin' Cotton Candy (Ice Cream). The atmosphere is always nice and the waitresses are very loyal + helpful. I hope they stay open for a very long time. I look forward to coming back next year (I go there a couple times a year as a treat). 🍦

This is one of my favorite restaurants located in my hometown. We usually go there at least a couple times per year. They have the best whole-quality foods as well as ice cream (they have some flavors that you can't find anywhere else like the Rockin Poppin" Cotton Candy, etc..) and of course, the atmosphere. They used to hang up photo frames of our hometown but the interior redesign several years ago removed them all but the newer one is still anything realistic but good. It's all about having a family-quality time when they serve us good on any special occasion or for a hang-out. What I'd like to get the most is the Fisherman's (Fish & Chip) Platter. Sometimes I get a Birthday Cake fribble, some other times I like to get the beloved Rockin' Poppin' Cotton Candy ice cream. Anything is worth enjoyable and well likable! That's why we come here...

I placed an online order 4/6/24 for 5:30pm for two orders of ice cream. The first was a large ice cream (2 scoops of chocolate chip, one scoop mint, with marshmallow topping). This sundae was also marked for a peanut/tree nut allergy. I got my boyfriend a cookie dough friendz with regular vanilla ice cream and cookie dough. My boyfriend took one bite of his friendz and immediately tasted peanut butter. He brought it inside and kindly explained to the girl in the front that he could taste peanut butter and his girlfriend is deathly allergic to peanut butter (again, I marked my allergy for my sundae). It was clearly cross contamination. He was responded with attitude from her saying that “you should’ve marked both ice cream orders that there was an allergy.” He explained that it wasn’t okay to have cross contamination anyway- there was a nut allergy on the order in general, plus he never ordered his friendz with nuts anyway so regardless it shouldn’t have had it. We were both not upset, until the worker was blaming us and being rude. Another kind younger male worker remade the ice cream carefully and was very easygoing. We go to Friendly’s often, but never the Vernon. Very disappointed and I think if it was a simple “hey, we’re so sorry for that. We’ll clean the machine and make a fresh one for you” , it would’ve been fine. We don’t know the name of the rude girl but it was just unacceptable. Take allergies more serious please. Won’t be...

Foods ok customer service is terrible. I purchased a large oreo milkshake with hot fudge total was 7 something I handed the man at the register 11$ and said keep the change. I receive my milkshake walk out to my car soon realizing there's no oreos in the milkshake. I go inside to let them know theres no oreos which is a very minor mistake and the now lady behind the counter tells me that there is oreos in the milkshake not only did she watch him make the milkshake but the vinila ice cream being brown proves that oreos are inside. I say well its probably brown because I asked for hot fudge which I did taste. She looks back and says did you add hot fudge to his shake? He replies yes, now mind you this is the same lady that watched him make the milkshake hahaha. In bixxh Karen voice She turns back and says well what do you want me to do make you new one? I say no you can just fix this one she takes the cup looks at the customer behind me and say ok I'll add more oreos, adds a small spoonful of oreos then passes it back to me. I worked in the food industry for a long time not only would I never take my anger out on a customer but definitely not one that tipped me must people aren't even allowed to receive tips unless there waiting...
