Ocean State Job Lot — Local services in Vernon

The store is fairly new and well kept. Some shelves were empty as you could see they were transitioning over to Spring & Summer items.

Alas, checkout is not set to go smoothly as they have a bottle neck situation where they set it up. The start of the register line is at the far end near a cluster of aisles. Those returning items see no indication as to where to go and just head straight to the registers. This made for quite a few angry senior citizens who voiced their opinions quite loudly and made a few of us feel uncomfortable.

Management was not to be seen and no one was in charge of sending customers to the registers other than Cashiers who had to walk away from their register, walk around to be seen, vocalize to the next person in line, then circle back to attend to the patron.

The wait time was horrible checking out. We had to wait 15 minutes for a cashier to show up as all staff were apparently...

Absolutely the worst customer service ever. I would taste this store a zero star if I could. I tried to return a ship to store slow cooker they didn't work at all the 1st time I used it. Kathy, who claimed to be the manager on duty stated that if I did not have the crazy deal card I was given when I got the slow cooker that she couldn't do anything for me. I tried to explain to her that I had used the card and she told me if I didn't have the card there was nothing she could do for me. Kathy then became very rude to me. I asked to speak to the primary store manager and was told I could call him Monday. Kathy refused to give me her last name and told me if I had an issue I could call customer service. Never again will I buy a ship to store open from ocean...

I love going to Ocean State to see what new treasures I can discover in the food and garden area🤩 These organic liquid herbs are so amazing🌿 I use them in my homemade salad dressing and seriously I'm salivating just writing this review!!! You really need to grab some before they are gone😁 And then, while wandering around the garden area, I stumble into the shoe area... and what to my wandering eyes do I spy Name brand shoes lol.. I snapped this pic to show my daughter. These aren't my style 🤣 but they do have soooo many different shoes, i.e., Earth Origins and boots, mostly in bigger sizes, though....
