Olivia at Umami isn't just a server; she's an experience, an unforgettable part of the evening that elevates dining from mere sustenance to an art form. From the moment we sat down, her presence was like a warm, welcoming embrace. Her smile radiated the kind of genuine enthusiasm that could only come from someone who truly loves what they do. Olivia has this incredible knack for making you feel like you're the only table in the room, despite the bustling environment around us. Her recommendations for the evening's specials were spot-on, showcasing not just her knowledge of the menu but her intuitive understanding of what would delight our palates.
The magic of Olivia's service was most evident in the smallest of gestures, like the way she retrieved our napkins. It wasn't just a simple act; there was an elegance to it, almost as if she was performing a small, choreographed dance. She paused just long enough to ensure each napkin was placed with precision beside our plates, a touch so subtle yet profoundly considerate that it left us in awe of her attention to detail. This wasn't just about practicality; it was about creating a moment, an instance where you feel cared for in the most unexpected ways.
Throughout our meal, Olivia's service was nothing short of exemplary. She navigated the evening with the grace of a seasoned host at a royal banquet, yet with the warmth of a friend sharing a meal. Every course was timed perfectly, every refill of our glasses seemed to anticipate our needs before we voiced them, and every interaction was peppered with her infectious laughter and insightful comments about the dishes. By the end of our dining experience at Umami, we weren't just full from the exquisite food; we were enriched by the encounter with Olivia, whose service was not just memorable, but truly magical. If there's one reason to visit Umami, it's to experience the unparalleled...
Read moreWe had high hopes for this restaurant, after reading all the positive reviews online.
Upon our arrival, we were surprised to see the restaurant basically empty, considering it was a weekend evening. Upon seating we were handed our menus and ordered our meals. We expected to get our food quick, we were quite wrong. It took almost 1.5 hours from the time we ordered until the time we received our food. During this wait period we saw the kitchen sending out a good deal of door dash orders, while we patiently waited for ours. It seemed that the restaurant was prioritizing door dash/pick-up orders over dine-in customers, which I believe is outrageous.
Once the time for the bill came , the management couldn't have cared less about our long wait, nor did they try and right things. All they offered was a 10% discount for our next visit.. We do not plan...

The chef was Victor Angel and trust me every meal he made was gorgeous! Our waiter was Chutima, her English is great and she was very helpful and courteous! Manager was Nadia and one can tell teh place is well run. The hostel that day was Anayelli, and she did good job acomodating us. The food was as delicious as could be. We tried rolls and sashimi, octopus was gorgeous and I loved weed salad! Also the roll with tune was really good, same as fried rice with sahimi. Really recommend!!! The bill with drinks for two was...
