Jimmy's Family Kitchen — Restaurant in Verona

We hosted a Bridal Shower for my daughter, Angelica, at JFK and it was awesome! They had the room set up for 50, with a front (street-side) corner set aside by the gift table for a photo banner which is where she also sat to open gifts.

I asked if we could do a brunch buffet and Brian had some great suggestions... breakfast items were served like appetizers, then we took some pictures at each table while they set up the lunch items. Everything was so delicious! (The brioche french toast melted in your mouth... had mine with strawberries and whipped cream.) Brian's team at Jimmy's never disappoints! They passed some pizzas and breads as guests were arriving and getting seated. Lunch was Rigatoni vodka, meatballs chicken francese, green beans and a chopped salad. Everyone was commenting on their way out that the food was "so yummy!" I said, "I totally agree!"

"Family" is how you are treated at Jimmy's Family Kitchen...Brian even whipped up some gluten-free pasta and grilled chicken for a couple guests that I forgot had dietary restrictions.

For those interested in other shower details... food is set up along the wall in the bar area. Brian does not have a cake cutting charge (I ordered the cake and pastries from Calandra's, and of course the team plated the pastries for us.) He also does not charge for mimosas/bellinis by head, you can open a bar tab and pay for what is consumed, and if you've been looking at other places, you will know this is a big savings.

I moved out of Verona to Manahawkin 5 years ago, but was so happy to find Brian and Jimmy's grand opening photo online when I started looking for a place to have the shower.

My family will definitely be dining here again and again! Thank you, Brian and team for such a beautiful day for my daughter, our family...

Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of gathering 18 fathers from one of the preschools in Verona and bringing them to Jimmy’s Family Kitchen for spaghetti and meatballs. I told them ahead of time they were going to be blown away—and they absolutely were.

Having visited Italy twice for 10-day vacations, I know firsthand the difference between authentic Italian cuisine and the American interpretation. Let me just say: out of all the Italian restaurants I’ve visited in New Jersey, Jimmy’s Family Kitchen is running neck and neck with the food I experienced in Italy itself. It’s that good.

I’ve tried nearly every entrée on the menu—except the eggplant (I’m not an eggplant guy, but my wife is!). Every dish has been consistently delicious and authentic. This small, family-owned gem delivers not only amazing food but also exceptional service. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, and the owners and staff go above and beyond with their professionalism.

For our event, the tables were beautifully prepared ahead of time, and within 15 minutes of sitting down, entrees started arriving. Everything was smooth, timely, and absolutely delicious. The fathers left impressed, satisfied, and grateful for the experience.

Hands down, one of the best restaurants in NJ — Jimmy’s Kitchen has it all!

From the moment we walked in, the service was incredible. Brian and Carol were absolute stars — warm, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel like part of the family.

The atmosphere is perfect — cozy but modern, with that beautiful open brick and tile design that just feels good to be around. Even the high tops were shockingly comfortable (and anyone who’s been out knows that’s rare!).

Now let’s talk food — because WOW. We started with the meatballs, mozzarella sticks, and shrimp beeps — all packed with flavor and impossible to put down. For dinner:

The penne gnocchi with chicken cutlet was creamy, comforting, and delicious

The smashburger and fries — those crispy thin fries with seasoning were next-level
