Just got back from trying to eat there. Save your time. Thiss place just needs to go ahead and close. The food was OK at best but i could not enjoy any of it because it was so hot. The AC is out and the temp is very uncomfortable. Very hard to enjoy anything when you cant breathe. My grandson came with and he was uncomfortable as well which only added more stress to an already bad situation. The guest Wi-Fi does not work. The place is very dated and sad. The salad bar needs help very little selection. The buffet is extremely over priced. It was more to eat this morning breakfast buffet than it cost to eat the nightime China Buffet with seafood and drink. We stayed about 30 min all i could take and had immediatly take a breathing treatment upon getting home. It cost $26.92 for two adult bufett w/ 1 drink 1/water and a child drink (he wouldn't eat so we got a happy meal for him after we left). Also i thought maybe the AC was just out because of the tornado's that had hit that area and i didn't want to be overly harsh if that had been the case. I called back to find out. I asked them if they were serving.. She said yes. I asked if they had lights and working restrooms and such because i had heard they had tornado damage. She said all was in working order. I asked do you have working AC ..She said YES. i asked again you said you do have working AC? Like right now today. She said Yes. Soooo no i have no sympathy for shoneys at all. I just left. There and the AC was NOT working. She lied. So save yourself...
Read moreWe began our experience with a blast of warm air as we entered the restaurant. We guess the a/c was out. After ordering we waited quit a long time for the food to arrive. After waiting for what seemed like 30 minutes a meal finally arrived. One meal. Chicken fried steak. After several minutes we encouraged our son to begin eating. He did not. We went ahead and blessed our meal and promptly 9 minutes later another meal came out. Sliders. After another six minutes two more meals were delivered. Another chicken fried steak and a spicy chicken sandwich. I began eating my meal which prompted the others to begin eating. We are half way there. Another 10 minutes two more meals were produced. Cobb salad (only it was not a Cobb Salad it was a Chefs Salad ) and steak sandwich. One more meal to go. My 82 year old parents have not received their meal. Which is the whole reason we stopped. (They were sharing a sirloin.) My father is diabetic and needs to eat on a schedule. Fortunately my daughter decided she could not eat three sliders and gave one to my father. 12 minutes later their meal arrived. It looked good. But when they cut into it the inside was under cooked as well as the baked potato. The waiter did let me go to the buffet and get them mashed potatoes to eat. Mom ate the outside of the steak where it was cooked and dad ate another slider that my daughter could not finish. The waiter was friendly and helpful it was not his fault the food was not prepared quickly. Over all though I do not think we...
Read moreI would have left and eaten somewhere else had it not been for the fact I was riding with someone else. The plates, bowls, and utensils were nasty. NASTY means more bowels, plates, and utensils had food debris after washing. I said something to the Young Man in charge of the dishes. He literally said it was not a concern...and walk away. He was told by one of the waitress to remove the dirty dishes. He reluctantly took them, but the return dishes were just as nasty with food inside and outside. I sat close to the food bar, from my seat I could actually see the food pieces on the dishes. I told the manager, his attitude wasn't any better. I didn't see him once walking and monitoring the bar or his workers. He casually told the little boy to check the dishes. Little boy rolled his eyes at me and walked away. I was leaving, so don't know what happened regarding the nasty dishes and utensils. Wish you were there to see the manager, I waited a good 10 minutes at the register before he came to the checkout register. There are TOO many young people and no one to supervisor them; From what I could see, manager is...
