The process of ordering is unique; walk in, order, pay (tip), and seat yourself. You tip before you’ve had the opportunity to experience this restaurant or its employees (other than the individual taking your order).... which is somewhat understandable because after we ordered, other than the individual who brought out our food, no one else stopped by our table to ask how it was, if we needed anything else, and there were no further interactions with the staff. Also, if you order a beer, one beer (that you pay for when you pay for your food) you have to go to where you ordered your food and order another one on a separate charge.... We orderd a half pound of shrimp (lemon butter, spicy), 2 potatoes and 2 corn on the cob (corn and potatoes charged separately). We were going to order an appetizer (calamari) but we were informed “it would possibly arrive at the same time as our main dish due to it being hectic”, there were 7 tables sat.... Therefore, we decided to cancel the calamari. The shrimp arrived a short time later. There was no flavor and it was just “spicy”. The same thing with the corn and potatoes; bland with some heat. We used to eat at Cajun Cowboys on a regular basis. This is nowhere near the same quality experience. The overall experience was mediocre and we will just make the drive to Bubba’s or boil at home the next time we want some boiled seafood. Some changes are needed if this establishment wants to last...
Read moreWe had heard about this restaurant from our daughter. We got there for an early dinner, so we were the only customers there. The first thing we noticed is it's clean, and very hospitable. The decore makes for a more nostalgic feel. We get to the counter and the man explains how the boil bags are ordered. I had gotten a pound of crawfish, a pound of mussels 1/2 pound of shrimp, 2 small red potatoes and a half a corn on the cob. My husband had gotten the same except he got crab instead of mussels, and sausage. The man at the counter suggested the manager special for the sauce. It is a Cajun lemon pepper seasoning. You get to pick your spiciness, there is mild, medium and hot. My husband and I both chose medium. We also both got a soda. We paid $99, it sounds expensive, but well worth it. We will go about 1-2 times a month. They line the table with wax paper, so you can dump the bag out and eat. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal. I brought some home for my daughter. I warmed it up in a 320⁰ oven covered for 10 minutes. She loved it too. So we fed 3 people with all that we had. They also have outdoor dining if you prefer. There's a deep sink to wash your hands after you eat. You...
Read moreNot the same as used to be. I always have called in to place an order over the phone mind you it was 7:30 and the girl who answered asked me to hold so she could take my order & she came back on the line to say her manager said it was too busy I would need to do the order myself online (couldn’t find that option on their website) or go in. I go over there and it was not busy the manager was joking around with a girl in the front register which was another employee and she was like help her and he’s like no you I’m going to make the tea. So she helps me and i sit in the waiting area for a while and a couple walked in it was 8:30 and they were turned away by the manager because they were about to close and stopped taking orders. Yall close at 9. Never have I ever seen this happen in the years that I’ve been a customer. Dockside needs to look into that. Poor customer...
