Texas Roadhouse — Restaurant in Victoria

Review based on dining in at 9:10 - 10:15pm on Saturday 8/10/2024.

First of all, We're TRH lovers, we almost catered Roadhouse for our wedding because we love it so much.

Unfortunately, today's visit was one of the worst we've ever experienced in TRH. We had a late dinner due to some projects. Got there at 9:10am and more than half of the place was empty, which was already odd because it's always packed on Saturday nights until closing, we thought we were lucky not having to wait.

They sat us at a 2 seater across from each other, even though at least half of the restaurant was empty. I asked if we could sit at a different table so we can sit next to each other, the hostess was reluctant and politely refused my request, okay fine, we'll make it work. We shared the single seater so we can still sit next to each other instead of across, that's our choice.

10 minutes later, we still haven't had anyone stop by to take our drinks order or anything. Finally a super sweet waitress name Hannah saw us sitting there sharing a seat, she asked to move us so we can eat comfortably, which was extremely kind of her. I wish she was our waitress for the night but the bigger table they moved us to was not in her area.

Fast forward, our new waitress Yeserli (I think was her name) was prompt and did pretty good but nothing remarkable.

Regarding the food, Not sure when they changed the salad ingredients but they did not have any croutons in our side salad and the tomatoes are now chopped instead of cherry tomatoes like usual. It just seems like overall they're cutting corners.

And to top it off, we had issues with the steak being medium rare instead of medium well and had to be sent back, but not a big deal, it happens. What frustrates me was I can see the grill in the kitchen from our table, after they regrilled it, it was sitting there for another 5 minutes before the manager had a chance to bring it back, which btw our waitress had to go hunt him down. Manager asked how our night was and I told him that I guess they are having a rough night tonight, he didn't ask about what issues we ran into and just left.

All in all, we're not sure what happened because we've been to this location plenty of times, most of them when the place was completely packed and they still had outstanding service. I'm really hoping they're just having a bad night tonight and tomorrow will be better.

TL;TR Bad one time experience, cutting corner in food and bad service from hostess, hopefully it's a one...

The worst, absolute worst service I have ever received at any restaurant, when it comes to food and seating. The wait staff was Spot ON!, but everything else was extremely poor and bad. We decided to eat here for Mother's Day. Our experience at this establishment was as follows. When we entered the door we had reserved a spot for 7 and was not informed until we arrived that they could only seat 6 of us due to restrictions, we were seated at 2 different locations and when we asked to be seated next to our party we were advised that we could not, which of course escalated to a conversation with the manager.. we asked to move and they complied however at this point we were seated in a location that was under the air as well as a constant drip from the ac unit which was showering my mother-in-law, then of course me when I switched seats with her. When we ordered this brought other issues, from not having "Steak bites" for the 2 children in our group as well as myself ordering the 11oz sirloin, well done, with a side of Broccoli and loaded sweet potato. When I received my order it was rare to the point I sent the steak back. When I finally got my steak which was of course after everyone finished, it was burned on the outside and very bloody in the middle. At this point I asked to just have the meal removed so we could pay and we could leave. This place was dirty with buzzing Nats flying everywhere as well as water leak from what I can only imagine was the A/C and hopefully not the sewage return. I will never return to this establishment as well as advise everyone I know of to stay as far away from this location as possible. In the end the kids got the smallest steaks they had and cut them into, you guessed it, Steak bites as well as everyone eating mostly correct orders and myself eating a decent order of broccoli and a loaded sweet potato. All in all we all tried to make the best out of this Mother's Day meal, well except for myself who will be stopping on the way home for a burger. BTY the picture attached below is after sending it back, not sure if you can see but there is still blood coming from this steak as well as the chard...

As a person who suffers from cptsd this place not only made myself, spouse, and 2 kids comfortable, they also welcomed my service animal "gunner". My 1st thought was oh lord this is gonna be a hot mess. What did happen was spectacular. Now only did we get a booth seat so there was enough room for all 5 of the family members. Gunner went under the table and everyone was so sweet to him and us. I never once felt judged cuz of having my service animal nor did I feel out of place. Our waitress omg she was so incredible. I'm so sorry sweet I don't remember ur name. However it was important to remember so don't think that I just have a bad memory lol. The one I do remember is Kayla. Kayla can tell u my waitresses name I'm sure 😆 Anyway, momma needed a drink but cuz of meds and other reasons I haven't been able to enjoy a drink. So the night we went to Texas roadhouse I decided. Screw it... yea but didn't want that much. So I asked of they could take it down a notch for me and they went out of their way and handle it like pros. Kayla and my waitress. It's like they were chemist with alcohol 😆 she took the big one down to a smaller size but the taste was on point. Her measurement skills are impeccable. Just of of the one I had I was thinking wow maybe I should have done the big one 🤣🤣🥰🥰🥰

Anyway amazing job ladies amazing job 👏 🙌 Pleased to change for this world make this worldcha ge because u are relentless on staying who u are.
