Ok so I've had food from this new location 3 times so far. Visit 1 was in person and taken home to eat. Everything about that visit was great. Visit 2 was delivery by a 3rd party app...pro-tip...I personally won't use chipotles own delivery service because if anything goes wrong (and it has) with your order there is zero customer service to help. Stores will say call corporate because they have no control over the app and guess what...there is no customer service at corporate. Ok so back to order 2...3rd party service. The order was made correctly however the steak was so heavily salted it was like a salt lick...or what I'd imagine pure salt to taste like since I haven't licked a horses salt wheel before. This was on the level of a lid coming off the shaker and dumping on the grill. Way beyond a personal preference issue. It wasn't edible and it went into the trash and I ate cheese and crackers for dinner because I was so over it. The 3rd party app gave me some partial credit to fix it...glad I used a 3rd party service. Ok now to fridays order #3. This order also came from a 3rd party app. The steak was seasoned as one would expect and I was so relieved. Then as I'm eating I'm having to spit out pieces. Fat, fat, gristle. When I eat chipotle I expect the napkins to be for wiping the globs of sourcream and guacamole off my face as I'm chowing down...not for spitting out pieces of the meat. 2/3 of the meat (steak) was in a huge pile of napkins when I was done. Now this bowl was a carnitas with extra steak added...so I still had the pork and therefore had something to eat...planned ahead after the previous salt problem and made sure I had 2 proteins. However...now I'm getting to the bottom of my bowl and there is something weird in my food. A BIG BAY LEAF! I'm assuming this was part of the seasoning for the carnitas however YOU MUST FISH THEM OUT AFTER COOKING...THEY ARE NOT EDIBLE! Photos attached. Don't worry I spared you pics of the pile of half chewed fat and grisle steak and just did pics of the giant bay leaf...you will just have to take my word on the steak part.
So 1 for 3 is not good. If you were a football team I'd bet against you. Chipotle is one of my favorites if not favorite fast food so I'm incredibly disappointed.
To management... QUALITY CONTROL is a huge part of training your cooks! Fat and grisle should be trimmed off after cooking not fed to your paying customers. Half the meat being fat and grisle means half that customers money was being wasted in the name of more profit? I imagine a restaurant makes more money when they serve scrap meat as filler? If that's not what you intended then fix it! I'm aware that most chipotle stores are corporate owned so this is on you. Pay more attention... Do better Be better
You aren't cheap chipotle and it's a lot of money to waste if customers can't eat the food they paid for. And for you...it's a customer that may not ever return.
I'm not sure that going in person would have made any difference since the order is made by the store and put in bags that are taped shut with stickers so none of this was on the delivery service who only act as drivers. But maybe if I'd seen for myself the fat hunks in the bin in person I might have known to choose something else. But I expect consistent product when I pay...and moreover I should be able to expect that no matter how I order my food, in person or for delivery, that care will be taken with my food and it's preparation. It is not unreasonable to expect quality for my money.
So chipotle...MAKE ME WANT TO COME BACK!
Update...sending form replies that take us to surveys isn't making me want to come back🤔...
Read morewent in the drive thru to pick up an order. first time at chipotle. there was no greeting, no smile, no “enjoy” or “have a good day,” just a “what order are you here to pick up.” i ordered two glass izzes (along with two bowls) so when i was handed just one paper bag i asked if everything was in the bag. i wasn’t sure if the bottles would be handed to me separately or in the bag, as i’ve, again, never been to chipotle, and also bagged orders are oftentimes missing items. the employee gave a curt yes and immediately shut the window. i’ve worked customer service/fast food. someone who values providing customers with quality service would have politely and gladly greeted me, kindly answered my questions (and dare i say, they’d have the foresight to say something like “everything is in the bag” before i even have to ask, and no i don’t think this is doing too much because like i said i’ve worked customer service and i always did this), told me to have a nice day, and would not have shut the window in my face. i’m truly astonished on a daily basis by the unfortunate amount of people that lack basic respect, manners, and critical thinking skills. i personally can’t imagine ever speaking to my customers with such a careless attitude and mindset, nor would i ever employ someone with such poor work ethic. the least he could’ve done was fake smile so that even if he was just having a bad day i’d know he had the emotional maturity to at least try not to let that out on others. giving food a 3 bc it wasn’t for me so idk how it was, but to my knowledge, everything was in the bag. my overall review is based on the...
Read moreUPDATE MAY 13 2025: Aftermarket first review, corporate contacted me. The representative for Chipotle was very apologetic and offered a coupon to make amends. I said that was very nice and figured to never redeem it. Never to suffer THAT again. HOWEVER... I dropped the car at the Ford dealership and thought, why not! I pulled in and ordered the double burrito, without the guacamole, sourcream or cheese. Not taking any chances. It was GREAT!!! SERVICE WAS STELLAR! I made two meals out of it. HAPPY I DID TRY AGAIN! Give it a try if you had any apprehension before. I was VERY PLEASED.
Explosive diarrhea in 2 hours. Best laxative money can buy!
Update: The next day, Chipotle in Ohio called after I made them aware of my surprising experience. The person was sympathetic and understood the situation. Apologized for any inconvenience and was very concerned with any sickness complaints. My visit was a couple hours after lunch rush, maybe hot or cold parts of serving trays at wrong temperature. Living in the high desert, I've eaten off of roadside taco trucks and Tijuana street vendors. Without issues. I've never eaten at Chipotle before because of the previous complaints and legal issues. Since I was at the tire store, I thought I would try it. Flavor was good, price is kind of high. 20 dollars for a bowl with soda. Don't know if maybe guacamole was old or whatever. Corporate was attentive and kind. I might try again, maybe when ingredients are...
