El Tejocote restaurant — Restaurant in Victorville

High prices - Small portions. Friendly service but not overly. I had a popusa revuelta and a churro and an mex horchata (I say mex because they sell a Salvadorean horchata but I did not order that one). The churro and the mex horchata were very good but they did put too much ice vs horchata in the cup however the taste for those are 5star. But the popusa at 2.80$ (apparently there prices have gone up and the price is not what it shows on the old menu board) was not better than El Super's popusa and they cost about the same - I give it 2 1/2stars.

Where they get 1star is in their ability not to wash their hands. One guy came in with supplies and straight to the kitchen to help out without washing his hands. One lady left outside to throw trash and then came back to the kitchen to help out without washing her hands. And the dispatcher was scratching her nose while taking my order. Y'all...

It is a typical hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant, located in Victorville, CA, near Wal-Mart. I have ordered, Mexican meals, from this establishment, in 2020, during the COVID Pandemic lockdowns, while visiting my relatives in the area. The meals, that I would order, were delicious. The prices, too, were not expensive, and fair. So, I decided to visit this place again, in July of 2023. I was not disappointed of the experience. The meals, again, were delicious. At the same time, the service was quick, prompt, and helpful. There was ample of space, to sit down, and enjoy the meal. In addition, the place was neat. Of course, without burritos, they offer different type of meals, mostly Mexican and Salvadorian. It is a typical Mexican fast food establishment. I have ordered from this establishment, many times, during the COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020. So, after the lockdowns were over, and I was again in the area in 2023, I decided to take a look inside, and have a lunch inside. I came here, in the middle of the week in July. Inside, there was ample of space to sit down, and enjoy a meal. The lines, during my visit, were non-existent, I was a sole customer, inside. The place in itself was fairly neat. Furthermore, the staff were helpful. At the same time, the wait time for my meal was not long. Of course, I cannot forget to mention, the prices were fair, and not on the expensive side.
