House of Joy Restaurant — Restaurant in Victorville

Food & service has bean going down hill for years, slowly yet surely. Called them about 15 Minutes Ago, Currently on hold on the phone by them, as I am typing this. Most Likely they are just waiting for me to hang up. All I had was ONE question that would take 2 seconds to answer, Even got to ask it before I was put on hold.I am using the online menu so there is not too much description of plate. I was gonna go there today, I WAS a very supportive customer, I am done. I don't think I will ever go back again, this customer service is not professional, I can get through to the D.M.V. quicker than this place. BTW , My questions was, "What Comes on the Mixed Seafood Plate?"

Update: I was on HOLD for 45 minutes total with NO answer before I hung up. I was never helped It was not a formal phone machine hold, it was just putting the phone on the table as they walked away. The entire 45 minutes I could hear everything in the background. They just left the phone there. The person who originally answered seemed bothered by my call before I was put on hold. I was originally calling to ACTUALLY place an order, it was not just a random question. I wanted to know what was in a food plate to see if I wanted that or something else to start with.

Before the incident, I would go there about 4-6 times a month. After the experience, and to this day, I have gone 0 times, and shared my experience on to others, persuading friends and family away whenever the opportunity for dinning came.

I have heard of similar new experiences with the restaurant, and wonder how it continues to stay in business, I heard a vague rumor that it "Washes...

We stopped in to grab some lunch and the smell was amazing. I just knew the food was going to be top tier. I was highly disappointed. If someone has never had authentic Chinese or Japanese food then this place will be top on your list. Fortunately I've had the joy of having authentic Japanese, Chinese and Thai food and this place isn't it. We got Orange chicken and the lunch special includes rice so we opted for fried rice. What we received was orange chicken that tasted old, more like the taste of a not so good Chinese buffet and the fried rice was literally white rice with some lite soy sauce thrown on it. No flavor whatsoever. We also ordered vegetable egg rolls that had no flavor until using sweet and sour sauce that was the texture of gelatin. We will continue our drive down the hill to more authentic tasting food but was hoping this would be the spot here in the desert. Customer service was really good and the food was prepared...

I was excited to try this place, but sadly disappointed. I ordered orange chicken, garlic spicy beef, bbq pork fried rice, chicken lowmein and a chicken entree like moo goo gai pan but they have a diff name for it. Also the cream cheese wonton. Most of the dishes were very bland. The only one we liked was the garlic spicy beef. Their entrees don't come with rice but they kindly provided rice at no charge. The orange chicken pieces were very dry and overcooked. The chicken in the other dishes was obercooked and dry as well. The lowmein had no flavor, the white chicken was completely unseasoned and there was barely any of the sauce. I was very sad because this is my favorite chinese food entree...chicken with snow peas, carrot, and water chestnuts. The snow peas were overcooked too. The cream cheese wonton were already cold when I got home and I was there waiting for the order and took it as soon as it was ready. They didn't have any...
