El Tio Pepe Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Victorville

Went there to celebrate a birthday hoping to find our new Mexican food spot as we are new to the area. Have to say we were greatly dissapointed! From the start we were greated with a look of unhappiness as if we were bothering the host. Very unwelcoming. We tried to order drinks just buy guessing what was offered as we were told there was no drink menue at all. Drink orders came back wrong, server did not bother writing anything down nor did he know what type of drinks were available. We ordered table side guac, we reminded them of the table side guac after our other appetizer had been recieved. We were then given a side of brown guac, server literally dropped it at the table n hurried away we didnt get a chance to tell him we ordered tge 10 dollar table side guac for our family of 7 not the little dish of brown guac! Flagged down the (un) happy waitress that took or order, reminded her of the table side guac we ordered. I don't know if the staff assumed that i didn't speak spanish or really i believe they didn't care as they mocked us and our request for table side guac. No one wanted to do it apparently. Finally our food comes, fajitas ...i asked for no mushrooms...i guess they geard xtra mushrooms. We were so over the experience from the start, the birthday boy wanted to leave before we got our food but we tried to give them a chance. We should have left at the start of the drink orders. Food was not anything special, table side guac was bland, i had to ask for lemon and added salt and pepper to make it ediable. 150 bill, my husband always leaves a tip regardless of the service as sometimes people have off days. The servers were really nice & very helpful. We are big fans of trying new food & we love to tip big! So I ordered a New York steak with shrimp & my boyfriend a T-bone steak we asked for medium rare we got well done on both of them. I am a picky eater & refused to eat it and asked if I may get another one then they bring it back but it was just (rare) I asked to just order something else & they refused to let me order something else & they brought it back out & it was well done again. I just was done at this point & did not want to eat anymore. Also I had the shrimp on there when I sent it back I did grab a one shrimp & 6 were on there when I had it, by the time they brought it back I had no shrimp anymore I was just so bothered. I didn’t want to keep saying anything. So we left it at that. Beside the bad experience with the steak! My boyfriend made me eat & he ordered me unos camarones endiablados which were very delicious & the chips & salsa were delicious! I will never go back for the steak! I came in last weekend with my family to celebrate my engagement, while there two people on our party had water spilled on them. When taking our order we asked the checked to be split. Waiter was bothered by us asking that so we tried to group it so less different checks for the waiter. My father ordered a burrito with all meat they brought his food Out about ten minutes after the rest of the table got there’s and the complete opposite of what he asked for. During this experience we thought it was the manger who said they would comp the meal they messed up on and a drinks of the people who had water spilled on them . When came to paying there were extra charges no comp on any of the drinks or incorrect food . When trying to correct the waiter gave up handed our bills to the host and left the host was rude , while us being understanding and calm .
