I saw the newly opened Margarita's in Victory Gardens last week but just got the opportunity to stop in tonight for the first time. We tried 2 cocktails apiece but only got pictures of the second ones because the first ones dissappear so quickly. I am not sure if Daniel, our bartender, was drinking them with us because I personally don't drink alcohol that quickly. The wife and I ordered our first drinks for each other she ordered me the Un Piquito, a spicy passion fruit Margarita, because she said the flavors match my personality and I ordered her the La Tóxica, a tequila raspberry, and lime drink with some burnt rosemary as a garnish, that I ordered for her because the name matched her personality. We then were treated to a small sample of the frozen cocktails by Valentina, the general manager of Margarita's, who was very engaging and had a nice personality and great demeanor. My favorite was the Chica Morado, which to me was a frozen berry apple cobbler. The wife was a huge fan of the Cafe con Horchata, which she described as a frozen espresso martini with a touch of Latin influence. I ordered the carnitas tacos that are some of the best I have tried, and the wife had the la Pichana steak that she thoroughly enjoyed. Then we finished with a special ordered mora & mango spicy margarita, and the wife had the mezcaloma, a grapefruit mezcal cocktail that was gone by the time I had written LA Toxica in this review. Read moreMy wife and I are Dover natives, and we try to do a weekly date night. This week, we decided to check out Margaritas Bar & Grill since it’s close to home—and I’m glad we did.
It was our first time here, and the food felt like a unique mix of Mexican and Colombian flavors. In a town with a big Colombian community, it’s nice to see a fresh twist instead of the typical “bar and grill fusion” you find elsewhere.
Our food came out quickly, hot, and full of flavor. The portions were just right, not an overwhelming mountain, but definitely enough to leave you satisfied.
We arrived around 7 PM on a weekend with no reservation and were seated right away. Our server, Johnnatan, was fantastic friendly, attentive, and quick. Most of the staff seemed bilingual, which was nice to see. We stuck to Spanish, but the couple next to us spoke only English and had no issues ordering.
They do have live music after 10 PM on weekends, but if you’re looking for a quieter experience, earlier in the evening works great.
Overall, Margaritas Bar & Grill is a spot worth checking out for good food, good vibes, great margaritas, and an ice-cold beer. We’ll...
