I recently had the pleasure of dining at Noches de Colombia in Randolph, NJ, and I must commend the outstanding service I received.
When I first arrived, I was greeted by Camila, the host, whose warm smile and friendly demeanor set a positive tone for my visit. Although there seemed to be a slight communication lapse as I waited over 15 minutes before being attended to, I believe this was due to the influx of guests arriving shortly after me. Despite this, Camila’s welcoming nature was notable and it’s clear she was chosen as the initial point of contact for her hospitable presence.
The true highlight of my experience was Sebastian. His exemplary service and professional demeanor were remarkable. It’s worth recognizing that most of my interaction was with Sebastian but the team as a whole was very professional. I appreciate having Nicolas come by and with a warm smile ask if someone has already come by. He was certainly a pleasant individual. I also had the pleasure of briefly interacting with Naomi who took my order for a dessert as I closed out the night.
I travel for a living and have had the blessing of visiting many places. I must recognize tonight’s service was absolutely remarkable.
Sebastian greeted each table with genuine warmth, apologizing for the wait and ensuring everyone felt attended to. His use of respectful terms like “caballero” and “familia” added a personal touch, making each guest feel valued. Even under the pressure of a busy restaurant, Sebastian’s energy and enthusiasm never waned, as evidenced when he cheerfully sang happy birthday to two separate guests.
What impressed me the most was his genuine apology to me for the delay, “caballero que pena. Disculpe la demora.” It was clear that Sebastian is passionate about his role and takes ownership of providing excellent service. His dedication was further highlighted by a conversation I had with one of the kitchen staff, who revealed they were short-staffed but still managing admirably.
Additionally, the restaurant’s use of electronic menus caught my attention. The vivid images and user-friendly interface made browsing the menu a delightful experience.
Overall, my experience at Noches de Colombia was greatly enhanced by Sebastian's outstanding service and the welcoming atmosphere created by Camila. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant and look forward to...
Read moreI've been to other Noches locations and never had an issue. However, I came here for dinner and was asked if I wanted an extra shot with my margarita. Since the drink was only $10, I figured it would be another $4-$5 for the shot, as is usual in other venues. Well, I was WAY WRONG! Each extra shot supposedly added to the drink was $12.50 EXTRA. If that's the case, bring me my shot next to my glass so I can verify the quantity. Unfortunately, I can't confirm that they even added extra alcohol to the beverage, and not once was I informed it was that much of an upsell. The alcohol total was $50 for five basic margaritas and $65 for shots, which I need help proving since they claim they were added to the drink. To top it off, there's no mention of credit card fees on the menu at 3.5%; that's NJ law, and beware of the added gratuity. My check had 18% added, and when you get your credit card slip, it has a line for extra. If you don't look closely, you'll overtip. Since I knew the charge, I crossed the line and signed off, only to be looked down upon for not adding extra. Never again, other places will treat you better.
Edit to comment on the stores reply:
The shot price is in line with other bars. My issue is if you're offering an extra shot with a drink. I have to see it. Red Lobster adds a small glass hanging on the drink, and Red Robin adds a shooter in the glass, etc. If you're going to charge full price, then it must be presented correctly; show me the extra. I still don't trust that it was added. For all I know, they added extra house tequila and claimed it was a...
Read moreMy family and I went to this Noches Restaurant in Randolph and we had a good time, but there were many little things that were not so great. When we got there we realized they were having a celebration, I believe it was for Carnaval. Because of this, it was super loud, we couldnt hear each other, but we made it work because the celebration was fun and we were trying to enjoy ourselves along with everyone else at the restaurant. Besides this, when our waiter took our order he kept mentioning if we wanted something along with our dish, I personally said no because I didnt want anything, but someone else in my group accepted their offer and when I looked at the receipt, they had charged extra for it. This should be something that the waiter should disclose, not just offer with our food and not say that it will cost more. For example, the bandeja paisa is known to have 2 eggs. I am not sure if they changed it but when one of my family members mentioned it to the waiter he didnt say "that dish only comes with 1 egg and if you'd like we can bring you another one but it will be extra", no he instead left our table and brought out the egg for his dish and then charged us for the extra egg. So, while we did have a good time at this restaurant, unfortunately it's safe to say we will be monitoring our meals/what they offer and I can only advise others to be cautious as well if you don't want to be surprised at the end...
